When leaders talk about banning masks for safety, they ignore the safety of many diverse communities. People who are higher risk, and Asian people have been attacked for wearing masks. Black and Brown communities are disproportionately targeted by police. Safety means EVERYONE.

Politicians say mask bans should come back as pre-COVID, they were law since 1845.

But scientists discovered viruses in the 1890s, discovered how they worked in the mid-1900s, and discovered SARS in the 2000s.

Mask bans are outdated, anti-science laws that belong in the past.

Using US weapons, Israel bombs a UN school in Gaza killing 40.

Their excuse? 9 of them were terrorists.

Imagine if your local police got a tip about 9 criminals at you local school, and they decided to solve the problem by bombing the school killing 40 people. Would any sane person accept that?

This is a clear violation of the principle of proportionality and therefore a violation of international law.

At some point in the next several years, as climate and environmental crises continue to worsen, it’s nearly certain that our capitalist rulers will look at all the problems caused by technology and industry — and then attempt to fix them with even more technology and industry, specifically with geoengineering.🤦‍♂️

As nearly every climate indicator grows increasingly dire, calls for extreme technological fixes get louder. However, study after study finds that taking a gamble on forced geoengineering comes with its own dangerous risks.

New research warns that if we inject sulfate particles into the atmosphere to attempt to reflect sunlight and mimic the cooling effects of volcanic eruptions and they don't end up in the right position, they could cause further warming and even worse climate anomalies than burning greenhouse gases as usual.

"We found that some detrimental effects of this injection are of a similar magnitude to those from climate change itself in some regions," ETH Zürich atmospheric scientist Elia Wunderlin and colleagues write in their paper.

Their findings add to a growing list of research highlighting the risks of forced geoengineering, which include losing more of the ozone layer, changing global rain patterns, and further disruptions to ecological systems.

Alternatively, one type of geoengineering poses far less risk and guarantees benefits. Restoring native ecosystems has massive potential to help stabilize our climate without introducing such extreme risks and unknowns.

However, despite being a much surer and safer bet, this option doesn't appear to attract nearly as much attention, fanfare, or funding.

Regardless of future strategies, transitioning away from fossil fuels is essential to addressing our climate situation. Meanwhile, usage continues to rise, and corporations receiving public funding are making record profits.

Israeli academics are reporting a significant increase in incidents where they are being excluded from international conferences, having research collaborations cancelled, and facing difficulties publishing in academic journals. This is happening across a wide range of disciplines, from the social sciences to the hard sciences.

The boycott is being driven by growing anti-Israel sentiment globally, with academics and institutions abroad citing moral and ethical concerns over Israel's actions in Gaza. With Trump polling so high in key states, corporate institutions are going to move to protect themselves. This is such an example.

How much of a scumbag do you have to be when the Supreme Court you bought won’t help you out?

For anyone who still thinks we shouldn’t prosecute Trump and his co-conspirators because their insurrection failed, consider this: there is no such thing as prosecuting a successful insurrection.

    @Strandjunker

That's why we aren't prosecuting--it's not that the Elites didn't want to destroy America on January 6th, it's that they wanted to better position themselves for its fall. They're ready now and set to make out like bandits.
