In Greece after the Dec 2008 uprising and during the pseudo-fiscal-crisis that begun shortly after, there was an anti-terror law that included wearing a mask or covering facial characteristics in public. Luckily for them, during an alliance gov. of far-right-nationalists with some opportunist sociodemocrats in 2016-19, they banned this law before #Covid appeared. In 2020 they tried to ban demonstrations and protests in open space to "protect the public".
@luckytran that’s actually the best answer to give. And it’s a teaching answer. The person receiving the answer won’t be the same person after hearing it. They will be a better, more improved version.
@luckytran
THANK YOU. Yes i wear a mask anywhere where i feel confined or with a lot of people without a fresh air source ie inside malls, public transport, theatres, cinemas and planes. I habe asthma and recently had major surgery. I don't want any chest infection tbh.
I recently picked up RSV at a wedding (where half the guests had just got off a plane and nobody wore a mask including me). I was coughing for 4 weeks and wore a mask when i was out so other ppl wouldn't catch it from ME.
@luckytran Totally agree. I actually got hassled about wearing a mask for the first time in forever last night. But it was just a drunk person hanging out in a pizza shop. Pretty happy my primary doctor still requires masks in his office (sorry to you folks putting up with that weirdness from your doctors). Though I was waiting to see a doctor in a long COVID clinic and she only masked when she saw I was wearing one.
@luckytran I've been asked to take my mask down for a few seconds at the bank to confirm my face matches by ID, but otherwise I haven't been hassled. All but one of the doctors I've seen in the past few months has masked up when they saw me wearing one.
@luckytran Random maintenance guy at work ran and chased me down to catch up to me to lecture me and berate me about my mask and how they don't work and It was a lie told by Fauci to get him rich and I should believe in conspiracy theories like COVID. LOL
@luckytran I wish someone would ask me, because I could completely honestly tell them that people are disgusting. I'd just like to see the look on their face 😂
No one should ever be harassed or attacked for wearing a mask and businesses should never prohibit employees from wearing a mask to protect themselves.
For public health, workers' rights, and human rights reasons, governments should implement laws that protect everyone's right to wear a mask.
We are at the point where everyone should be wearing bladerunner makeup just to go grocery shopping. No good can ever come of point of sale biometric data harvesting.
