Can it be said more clearly?

US Army General Cavoli, April 10:

“We are facing challenging times in the European theater, to say the least. Russia's brutal unprovoked War has ravaged Ukraine for over two years. Their forces are demolishing cities and are destroying innocent lives on a scale we have not seen since the second world war […]
Russia shows no signs of stopping. Nor does Russia intend to stop with Ukraine. Russia represents a chronic thread.”

How did we end up in a world, where all content can be viewed from anywhere, but you have to pay for a VPN subscription?

The argument: You have to pay, because some content is limited to certain regions… which is what VPN proves to be false, because with VPN all content IS available everywhere.

Should we make cars like that?

👨🏼‍🦳 Well you need a VPN app, because this car cannot drive into France.

🧔🏻 But I just tried the VPN app, and this car can drive into France just fine!

👨🏼‍🦳 Yes, but…

🧔🏻 NO!

For the longest time, I have been wanting to visit Norway again. But I just finished two seasons of the wonderful crime series Wisting, and I think that saved my life, because now I am clearly not going.

It turns out, in Norway people are killed by psychopathic serial killers and dumped into old wells on a daily basis, and the surprisingly good looking police force is seriously understaffed.

COMPLETELY IRRESPONSIBLE!

I certainly have had enough of some people claiming that we must cower to Putin, because he has nuclear weapons. And I am glad to see, I am not alone.

In a debate show on Danish national tv, foreign editor of Danish newspaper Weekendavisen, Anna Libak replied to yet another “But Putin’s has nuclear weapons!” by saying, “If Hitler had nuclear weapons, would we have given him France?”

Bingo! Of course we would not. And neither should Putin have Ukraine.

Danish has so many borrowed words from English, German and French, it sometimes gets confusing.

If you saw the word "teeen" with three E's, you might think it had something to do with teenagers, but no.

Wherever English puts "the" in front of a word, Danish augments the word with "en". This is why "teeen" in Danish is actually the English word "tee" (like a golf tee) followed by "en".

So "teeen" means "the tee", and "basketballen" means "the basketball", and "kajakken" means "the kayak".

As promised, President of Georgia Salome Zourabichvili today vetoed the Russian law, which the ruling Georgian Dream party has been trying to push through parliament.

The law would create a new mechanism for suppressing media and NGO’s as “foreign agents” — something which the EU has described as incompatible with European values.

7 kilometers in 7 days — that’s the distance you walk in an hour, only it took a week for the Russians to get that far into Kharkiv Oblast.

From analysis I have read this week, Russia has lost more than 7,000 soldiers to take strips of forrest, and small settlements.

The invaders have now reached the first of two Ukrainian defensive lines which run east to west, and with the relatively few soldiers and limited armored resources they have committed, they will likely not get much further.

1/2

randahl OP ,
@randahl@mastodon.social avatar

What the invaders have passed on their way is isolated, lightly fortified outposts, and when arriving, Ukrainians have pulled back, gradually pulling the Russians into the Ukrainian land which Ukrainian artillery is pointed at. This leaves us with two possible outcomes:

  1. Either Putin relocates 250,000+ soldiers to the Kharkiv region to start a real attack on Kharkiv.

  2. Ukraine counter attacks and pushes the invaders out.

I believe it will be 2, as Putin does not have the resources.
