There's an important new review about the effectiveness of masks from @trishgreenhalgh & colleagues.

Digging into it & comparing it with the controversial Cochrane review clarified several issues for me, & left me optimistic about masks & scientific consensus.

If you've ever wondered how meta-analyses can have different conclusions on the same question, this post is for you, too!

The idea that there will be fewer protests if they banned masks is ridiculous. People are rightfully going to continue protesting genocide. The only thing banning masks will do is make society even less accessible and discriminate against anyone who wants to protect their health.

Recent research has found that sunglasses do a much better job of concealing identity than face masks.

Banning sunglasses would logically reduce protesting more than banning masks.

Just a picture of Covid being over in Japan.

See the grey line? It flatlined when the government decided to throw all Covid data collection out the window, told that Covid was over, and when people started to stop masking.

See the red line? That's the excess mortality rate.

    I wonder what is happening.

"Michigan Rep. Debbie Dingell asked the doctor [Fauci] to describe the threats he and his family have faced—this being the shameful price of public service since Trump became president and empowered the worst among us to harass those trying to do good. As he spoke, Fauci choked up, struggling to hold back tears."
