there is this real bitterness about these people who say they don't need artists anymore, they can make art for themselves.

it's like the kind of person who thinks they have an amazing idea and wants to do you a favour by letting you help realize it for them.

In Pratchett's Thief of Time, the Auditors of Reality grind down artwork in the museum to find out what makes it art. But all they can find are pigments and binder. And they are SO ANGRY.

This is what these AI art people remind me of. They really don't understand what makes art special and are angry that they don't have it.

also the popular idea of what androgyny is supposed to be is a very narrow box of usually white, thin, etc. we're getting rid of the boxes. fuck the boxes.

I remember going to the dentist as a kid and the dated old music from the 70s they always played.

Songs like "Take it Easy"

But, here is the mystery. When I go to the dentist now it's the same music. Doesn't matter what dentist I see or what city. The music is still from the 70s.

Shouldn't it be music from the 00s by now?

Why are all Dentist offices frozen in time??

@billyjoebowers @futurebird yeah if you look at how old a lot of music is, it should be turning up on classic rock stations by now, but it's like people don't want to feel old or something and it's all stopped in time.

When Wikipedia said the movie was "loosely based" on the H.G. Wells story, they meant loosely.
(spoilers ahead)

  • it's set in Brazil
  • the ants are a few inches long
  • the ants have venomous bites
  • did he say they were wearing clothes or is that a weird figure of speech?
  • Set primarily on boats
  • Basically this guy saw these ants kill a few people and then went back to tell the tale and is afraid they will spread and it ends abruptly
