imo, I think they're playing the plausible deniability card.

They can always say they don't know what is happening in the lower ranks. Once the other side raises arms, suddenly they're going to play the self-defense card.

On the other side, they preach about how asians should support each other against the power and influences of the west.

HP tied thermal shutdown to Windows, meaning it doesn't work on Linux. ( imgur.com )

My HP All-In-One 20-c081nt has the processor Intel Core i3-6100U, which is supposed to not run hotter than 100C. On Windows if 100C is reached, the screen will fade out and PC will immediately shutdown. A warning will be shown at next boot. On Linux, seen in the video, the PC will simply keep running as if nothing has happened...

leaky_shower_thought ,

I wish there's those stickers manufacturers can put in to say the product runs well on linux (as compared to windows and mac).

leaky_shower_thought ,

I thought I was in dad jokes for a moment.

This is too good.

leaky_shower_thought ,

I'd do gardening, and the occasional cooking experiment.

go back to learning and maybe explore bio chemistry.

oh shit, I actually have time to figure out what bills these reps are pushing, maybe call and criticize some shady things in there.

leaky_shower_thought ,

no. but i try to forgive myself for not taking the opportunity. imo, it is a skill that forms through a lot of interactions. a form of rizz. and to me, it doesn't come as natural.

leaky_shower_thought ,

Ahhh yes, the 34 counts convicted felon rapist Donald Von ShitzInPantz Trump?

leaky_shower_thought ,

Brown and other critics of ranked choice voting contend the system is confusing, and he said there are numerous instances in which voters didn’t end up ranking their choices.

"Ranked choice stupid. Me think why waste time vote lot peeps when one vote do trick."

leaky_shower_thought ,

site-native ads, yes.

other ones that aren't even closely relevant then no.

leaky_shower_thought ,

personally this news is amusing for me.

i understand the nostalgia behind it, but everytime i see he-man, the song and skeletor memes immediately pop up.

leaky_shower_thought ,

i usually do. it also helps to check first if the sub is light-hearted and sharing is very welcome.

there's a chance the sub is already at a devolving to name slinging and memes and that requires a different touch.

leaky_shower_thought ,

electric cars.

I know that there's one benefit that they do help with the carbon footprint, but factories (law-exempted for some reason), personal jets, yachts and cruise ships make me feel this personal contribution is moot.

there's also the fact that most electric cars are shipped with privacy invasive data collectors most of use didn't ask nor pay for.

leaky_shower_thought ,

yes, all new cars today have the telemetry.

if only elecric non-"smart" cars we're a thing.

leaky_shower_thought ,

ultrasound basin. you know those small things with water and vibration you dip your jewelry to wash all the gunk off?

now maybe it's big enough to dunk jeans and shirts.

leaky_shower_thought ,

on plain water, it can dislodge dirt without manual scrubbing.

if you add soap/ solvents in the solution, it's like a more efficient washing machine due to the micro bubbling process.

apotheosis. you may not like it, but this is peak form's peak form.

standard con tactics.

tell people the story they all want to hear.

sad part is a lot of these people have no critical thinking skills.

to abide by certain rules governing character behavior in order to protect the franchise and consumer products sales.

leaky_shower_thought ,

thanks for this great insight!

the only thing i knew related with toy sales are ewoks.

green lantern, being a popular show, definitely scaled up the money factor.

leaky_shower_thought ,

yes. but to so as not cause miscommunication problems, maybe keep it to close people who are in the know of what you mean.

How to work with someone that regularly arrives as the wrong answer?

I work with a person that went presented with a problem, works through it and arrives at the wrong solution. When I have them show me the steps they took, it seems like they interpret things incorrectly. This isn't a language barrier, and it's not like they aren't reading what someone wrote....

leaky_shower_thought ,

some people hate legalese, but after reading the situation, I think legalese is made for this sort of problems.

some people learn by example better than following instructions.

also context plays a lot when it comes to instructions. try to see things ahead if played in different contexts.

leaky_shower_thought ,

A person needs to be strong to be kind.

... and all that variations of noblesse oblige principles out there.

with that out of the way:

If the most prevalent form of strength is money, like capitalism, then the way to earn it must be through greed.

...the good in humankind...

with greed, no. excessive greed is not good.

... can prevail

especially the prevail part. There's a few notably strong people not swayed by greed, but it can only go that far. Greed is a really strong force for both incentive and corruption.

  • popular sayings like: "get well", "do not be sad", "do not be poor~"

    • following up with this, communication will always present a bump or two. it's not easy to get [all] your points across.
  • karaage, IMO. "oh it's just fried chicken". fried-dry-chicken is the easy part.

  • it always looks easy when pros do it: you see it with that teacher solving that algebra problem, or that guy doing that guitar hero/osu/rhythm game song, models and their drips, mukbang/oogui, porn

leaky_shower_thought ,

Thanks for the tip, I'll try this next time!

leaky_shower_thought ,
  • leeches. i watched some movie as a kid and leeches dangling over the heroes after they crossed some water scared me good.

  • those beach jelly fishes. nope. i get why they are there and i'd prefer to give them their space.

  • anything with those scaly shiny black and yellow hornet danger colors.

leaky_shower_thought ,

I've read something similar too. It's like a motor reaction to them when they are threatened.

The important part is to "melt" the barb, they say, and that's were the pissing tale starts.

leaky_shower_thought ,

That might be it~ I checked it out on yt and for sure, that scene is very familiar.

The movie definitely knew what they were doing, using the fat leeches and all that.

leaky_shower_thought ,

hmmm, if I live there, I would probably try to move out.

or go to a state where this shenanigan doesn't get acknowledged. not really sure if state laws were meant like that.

but echo chambers are cool in a way that goes beyond politics. it provides perceptible feelings of unity, belongingness, and validity to those that seek them. apes together strong kind of deal.

and since politics is about social issues, I don't see why not.

leaky_shower_thought ,

why go for RAMs when the constitution says ARMs...

  • mega bytes is a venti

  • giga bytes is a grand venti

  • terabytes is a doble venti

really large amounts of ARM is a ton

Major Asset Seizure Likely as Trump Can't Afford Bond for NY Fraud Case ( www.commondreams.org )

Less than a month after New York Attorney General Letitia James said she would be willing to seize former Republican President Donald Trump's assets if he is unable to pay the $464 million required by last month's judgment in his civil fraud case, Trump's lawyers disclosed in court filings Monday that he had failed to secure a...

After Abortion Ban, Texas Teen Birth Rate Rises ( www.texasobserver.org )

A 15-year decline in Texas teen birth rates slid to a stop—and converted into a modest increase in 2022, the year after the state Legislature implemented what was the nation’s strongest ban on abortion, according to new report from the University of Houston’s Institute for Research on Women, Gender & Sexuality.

leaky_shower_thought ,

Of course they'll just waive that off.

The devil is just testing them with the numbers, just like the story about some guy in the desert being tested too.

Just more thoughts and prayers and everything will be alright~

leaky_shower_thought ,

the market research aspect makes sense. but why go the roundabout way of surveying? isn't it counterproductive to lose users this way?

leaky_shower_thought ,

Thank you very much! These answers are very insightful.

I think these points brought the point home on why some of their decisions seem absurd for me:

ads are common in mobile games and mobile games are trying to sell to people already playing mobile games

Once they’ve peaked, they’ve “served their purpose” in the companies eyes.

On top of that, by the time the game comes out, people likely won’t remember the ad, and they very likely won’t remember it was a bait.

mobile player pool is gargantuan
