Does anyone have a link to the caramel ice cream video?

I always check people's comment history before I block, to see if they are always a jerk or if they're just having a bad day.

What software is that? Sounds nice.

Wonderful motion in this. I love how the swirling flames carry your eyes around the piece while the stoic figure holds them still.

I learned about this in middle school and I would daydream about getting real powers and taking the challenge and blowing everybodys mind.

Meta note, I like a short description after the article title, I feel it gives the community more life and makes this place feel less sterile. I'm a lot more likely to click on a post if there is a brief description. I know the rules discourage it but Im not sure why. Is it a holdover from reddit? I know the subs there have a lot of rules due to the large volume of posts but its not really an issue on Lemmy with the smaller size.

No editorializing seems like a great policy though.

If the mod asks Ill edit this post to just be the article title

2.5 billion doesn't actually seem that bad for a project of this scale. But according to a quick calculation on an internet site it'd be about 26 billion today.

Woah an 8/8 for 2 mana!! Wizards needs to ban this before it breaks the format.

I use Mastodon but my main issue is the like of interaction. Even large accounts with many followers receive almost zero likes or boosts on their posts. Makes it feel like thousands of people shouting into the same void and trying not to make eye contact.

"Ripping off" really? This joke is ancient. You could probably find it in a farmers almanac from the 1850's.

Edit: Here's an article with many more examples of "weather stones"

Wow this author really has it out for Phil Collins. Tarzan is my favorite Disney soundtrack since I was little.

Wow I never would have believed a rat could do that. Incredible.

Thats cute but also terrifying. I love bears but something primal in me wants to run anytime I see a video of them.

Embarking on a complete reading of Stephen King's novels. Just reading Carrie now. Wondering if when I get to The Stand I should read the original or the updated/revised.

I understand that the newer version has a different ending and some new characters and scenes that weren't in the original. But the original is what got all the accolades and was considered his best book....

Dont have advice as I'm not a King fan, but two of my siblings are and they both love the podcast Just King Things and it looks like they have an Official Discord where you might be able to get some advice.

That's incredibly brave, I wish the best for him and his family. The idea of facing down a modern government is almost eldritch in its monstrosity. He says he doesn't consider himself a hero but I am sure many would disagree.

Whenever I see diagrams like this I think about how its just the generic one. For a guard at the time they had watchtowers that they knew by heart. "Oh no Im assigned to the eastern tower, the one by the pig farm! Ill never be rid of the smell!" or "Im glad to be at this tower, the ladder is much sturdier!"

I hope some Crichton-esque technological breakthru lets us see back in time, to catch the day to day things hidden by history.

Fascinating piece of architecture. Getting 3,000 people down into a mine every week is quite a feat.

Got curious and did some digging, found this video about their decision to stop the clock.
