It’s still a small community. Asklemmy would be fine.

What's was your favourite fast food product that unfortunately got retired and never came back?

Here, for a while at McDonald's there was a 🍔 called "the 1955" and it was the best, big pieces of onion, an special sauce, buns and big piece of beef with bacon (for Europe standards anyways) it disappeared once and came back for an encore only to be removed again and never return.

Her skin looks pretty good for a mugshot.

Great read. Here’s the juicy bit if you don’t have time:

Could the industry conceivably make enough propylene and ethylene through pyrolysis to replace much of our demand for new plastic?

He looked three years into the future, using his company’s latest figures on global pyrolysis investment, and gave an optimistic assessment.

At best, the world could replace 0.2% of new plastic churned out in a year with products made through pyrolysis.

Brkdncr ,

Turbines. Windmills are for making flour.

If it’s hot outside we can raise the price of water…”

Holy fuck dude that’s some endgame capitalism right there.

Brkdncr ,

They’re advertising this a little wrong.

It should be $30/mo for insurance and it comes with a free surge protector and generator hookup.

Honestly if you can cancel that subscription and keep the equipment that’s probably a good value.

Brkdncr ,

Jesus these people have families. Figure it out and let them leave or don’t figure it out but let them leave.

You aren’t going to get new information from them by now.

Brkdncr ,

Bad faith argument.

We can imprison people indefinitely. They aren’t going to be responsible anyways. If anything it’s the local government’s responsibility. They should have protected critical infrastructure. Maybe vessels capable of causing catastrophic damage should be escorted by tug boats.

Brkdncr ,

No. Dems for some reason can’t figure out that they will never win against the 2nd amendment. A dem that supports the 2nd would be able to easily win in any purple district.

Honestly if they don’t understand their potential constituents they deserve to lose.

Brkdncr ,

Yes, because you call out the ar15. Most pro-2nd people see that gun as being the same as any other rifle and find the regulations around it to be ineffective.

Brkdncr ,

It’s cheap and plentiful and shoots cheap ammo. That’s it. It’s the Honda civic of guns.

Brkdncr ,

You’re losing if you can’t get your rep elected.

Brkdncr ,

Poor argument. Rate, capacity, range are not unique to the ar15. Muzzle loaders aren’t common.

How to make an old USB brother laser printer wireless?

I have an old Brother laser printer that's been doing fine and doesn't need to be replaced, but it only supports USB. Is there a device besides an old computer/laptop that would make it a shared wireless printer that supports windows machines well? I'm pretty sure i could come up with something myself, but i would prefer an...

Brkdncr OP ,

Yeah I’m asking for recommendations.

Brkdncr OP ,

No.

Brkdncr OP ,

Wouldn’t I need to get a unique ARM driver for the usb printer to work?

Brkdncr OP ,

Router and printer are in different locations.

Brkdncr OP ,

I’ve never used a Pi before so I may end up using it for other things. The cost isn’t really the issue, it’s the idea of throwing out a perfectly working printer just to get network support.

Brkdncr ,

I re-ground mine to 15 degrees and they cut great when sharp but require more upkeep.

They don’t talk to me and I hope to keep it that way.

Everyone left. There’s nothing the state can offer to keep the most productive people. Most ended up going to California.

The ones that returned became educators.

Government workers should have wages and benefits that go up when the economy goes up.

Colorado Republican Brutally Grilled By Local News Anchor: ‘Why Is Abortion Good For Your Girlfriend? Bad For Other Women?’ ( www.mediaite.com )

That website brought my laptop to a crawl.

If I have a USB powered device, could I leave it plugged into a portable power bank (like the kind you charge your phone with) as a power outage backup?

Basically as the title says. We have semi frequent power outages where I live. The noise machine in my daughter's room goes out and wakes her up. If I were to buy a USB powered one, plug it into a power bank like one of those 10000ma ones you get for charging cell phones, would it have continuous power. Basically like a cheap...

Brkdncr ,

Would a home battery backup be overkill? If you have frequent outages it might be worth looking at something from EcoFlow ($) or Tesla ($$) to provide power when the grid fails. Other vendors exist besides those two of course.

My grandparents took in a child that was a terror then and grew up to be a horrible person. They did everything possible and had raised a number of people that turned out to be normal previously. Some people are lost causes.

In sweeping change, Biden administration to ban medical debt from credit reports | The rule, first reported by ABC News, could go into effect sometime next year. ( abcnews.go.com )

For context, the poor credit ratings which go with medical debt are concentrated in the south, where states have limited the reach of medical safety-net programs.:...

3 years later I’ve got a few quotes all over $20k each to redo their bad work and $8k in repairs. They are evaluating their options.

Feeling lost and with no direction, what skill should I learn?

Hi everyone. I am feeling like I've lost any direction after getting laid off earlier this year (was working as an analyst in telecom and very recently landed a much lower position in healthcare data entry due to necessity). I already have several hobbies but I am either burnt out on them or they have lost their luster (similar...

I’m taking some welding classes later this year. Being able to fix or create things with a welder seems like a useful skill to have.

I suspect the intro classes are all the same regardless if you take welding into the art direction or the mechanical direction.

He’s more interested in people hearing him speak than the health and safety of his future constituents.

The link has extra panels and a comment from the artists that explains it more. This isn’t a joke so much as it is explaining their situation in a joking manner.

“Per our discussion, you do not want to hear anything more about updating from a windows 7 machine that is no longer being updated, no longer receiving security fixes, and is end of support, to my recommended windows 10/11 machine. You’re aware that I have advised you that not updating is possibly a HIPPA violation.

This email confirms that I will no longer bring the subject up again.”

That’s it. CYA and print that Sent item out. Move on to the next issue.

Just pardon one hour or $1 off whatever he has to do, just to flex.

    Trombone.

You don’t need to learn finger combinations like on most brass and woodwinds, nor chords like piano and other string instruments. Just the 7 positions the slide can be at. Blow a raspberry and the note comes out.

Trumpet is similar but a lot easier to store and transport. Also those three valves are pretty much the same amongst other brass instruments like French horn, baritone, tuba, etc. so you can move between instruments if you choose.

    Brkdncr ,

You could have marked your slide, but also if you can’t hear when a note isn’t right you’re doing music on hard mode.

    Brkdncr ,

Agreed. There’s a lot more to it, the mouthpiece is small, hand position in the horn, knowing how to deal with what’s directly behind you.
