Stop doing magnets.

Inanimate objects were never meant to be attracted to each other.

Years of sticking yet no real world use found.

Wanted to join things just for a laugh? We had a tool for that it was called glue.

"Magnetism and electricity are two sides of the same coin” "attraction decreases with the inverse square of distance” - statements dreamed up by the utterly deranged.

Look at what magnematicians have been demanding your respect for all this time with all the funding we have given them.

"hello I would like an invisible force please"

They have played us for absolute fools.

True.

But being a child saying "but why?" until your parent flips their wig isn't.

I feel like they should have specified:

Instagram Advertises Nonconsensual AI Nude Apps ( www.404media.co )

Instagram is profiting from several ads that invite people to create nonconsensual nude images with AI image generation apps, once again showing that some of the most harmful applications of AI tools are not hidden on the dark corners of the internet, but are actively promoted to users by social media companies unable or...

Surely in a liberal democracy enfettered capitalism is restrained by laws.
I think a big problem we have now is a combination of regulatory capture & (sometimes AI generated) targeted, emotional, populist advertising by political brands.

"we have been trying to contact you about your car's extended warranty"

I don't & searching turned the internet into a stream of ads for panini makers.
Help me.

Knowledge might not be intelligence but I really found xkcd's 10000 a wonderful be idea.

I can only assume the other states are similar.

I had to scroll way too far to find this - surely the main pro/con if hydrogen.

Storage was an issue in the past. Is it better now?

Seconded.
I never thought the subjects he chooses would make for good viewing but TC is consistantly surprisingly interesting.

So we're good to build solar panels then right...

...right?

Where do those 100 companies get their money from?
That 15% increase in local bike riders is a 15% reduction of petroleum industry income - if we can get similar results elsewhere.

From little things big things grow.

Spending a billion dollars to bring solar manufacturing back to Australia is 'worth a shot', researchers say ( theconversation.com )

If Australia can kickstart a viable solar industry, the country could take better advantage of the talent and research knowhow in Australia to begin building next-generation cells, and unlock other parts of the green economy, write Brett Hallam and Fiacre Rougieux from the UNSW Sydney....

If it can be made without Lead & reasonable efficiency. Why does there always have to be an if.

I've been happy with Asus & TP-Link using openwrt. I'm curious about the Bananapi ones but it could be a hassle & what I have now works.

This is literally their area(well 50% state gov).
Just because you are atheist doesn't mean you can go into their place & do what you want.
Would you do a burnout in a church? Would you break a foreign countries laws because they aren't yours?
Being atheist doesn't absolve you from humanism or courtesy.

I see these arguements all the time but when you see the factory its all robots.

I bought some plastic clothes pegs at the supermarket the other month - they were made in Melbourne. In my mind its 2 or 3 people nursing a second hand injection moulding setup in a low rent semi abandond light industrial area.

Some of this stuff can be done but I don't know about solar panels specifically. I bet asianometry could do a good video on it.

In Australia we only have two options in the lower house. One of them is pretty close to driving off a cliff.

Things could always be better (I personally find with their recent car emissions legislation a bit weak) but our current government is doing OK.

When these guys say "could" that means "probably will”.

You don't like a bunch of people shouting at each other across a cafeteria?
It kind of explains why I never got twitter either.

Emotion-tracking AI on the job: Workers fear being watched – and misunderstood ( theconversation.com )

Emotion artificial intelligence uses biological signals such as vocal tone, facial expressions and data from wearable devices as well as text and how people use their computers, to detect and predict how someone is feeling. It can be used in the workplace, for hiring, etc. Loss of privacy is just the beginning. Workers are...

Is there really no alternative in shampoo & disposable coffee cups?

I understand that these chemicals do have some outstanding properties but that doesn't mean unfettered production & use.
Any risk assessment of a potential use really should include 100% resource recovery & disposal or recycling.
This could have been done years ago but if industry can't self regulate then bans it is.

These chemicals make silent spring look like, um, er, weekend at Bernie's?
