Goodness this is so pretty! Soothing and seems like the flowers would smell amazing!

The sound inside my very loving but very slow cats head is the gentle hum of a space heater. Or maybe a soft spring breeze.

Huh, I was told a story of my father in law having the same thing happen to him, but luckily for them it only burned the electronics that were plugged into the antenna, and one tv that was too close to a radio that also got screwed up. Never got to meet the man though, unfortunately.

It was a nice place! Our local place was always jam packed!

It's now a Comcast store :<

Something similar happened to my husband about 20 years ago. He has ssdi, and can only work a certain amount of hours a month. He tried one month to see if he could do full time work. Nope, impossible.

And so gets kicked off ssdi, and had to fight to get back on it. And they charged him for being on it...by deducting the money he now 'owed' them from the new ssdi. It was stupid.

The laws in place are also why my husband is husband in name only. If we ever actually got married, goodbye everything keeping him alive! It sucks.

RebekahWSD ,
@RebekahWSD@lemmy.world avatar

He can get married. To another "adult disabled since childhood" which I'm not. Otherwise he loses ssdi and medicare/medicaid. I'd have to support him yes, which I can't right now.

Was about to say I didn't think we had any here, although I've seen them previously.

Then I remembered that the pub has one in the lobby and I keep having to convince my husband to not mess with it. And that we don't have change on us.

Old old? Was my great grandmother who got to...80 or 90. Must have been at least 80, given my mother's and grandmother's ages. She was old old.

Grandmother was old, but not so much.

Mother and everyone in her age range were "adults" but not old. Adults did things. Old people cut out papery dolls for me and my twin, that was their jobs!

My old machines slowly creep across the room to the "I might do something with you later" and then slowly into The Closet where things go to live forever.

There are parts of a commodore 64 in there.

I love greek pizza which is a white pizza with garlic, onions, spinach, feta cheese, and olives. But the place that made that best closed. I also like a bacon cheeseburger pizza, which is just bad for me.

I was raised in a union household, which seemed to be unusual at the time. Love unions personally they helped both my parents and my sibling. Sibling got a new job near the holidays, union job, and the union gave them a huge basket of holiday food which was cool as hell.

Soda or another liquid that is bad for me. For food, I was generally in charge of food so if I made food, it was themed! I have the Song of Ice and Fire cookbook, and when we played that system I made food from there.

And almost always the cat matters not! It's amazing!

God I love Wildermyth, it's a fun game. I'm saving to get the roguelite expansion. Or is it roguelike? I get them mixed up.

That era of physical technology is just so very cool. I like modern stuff, but man hope they made all it work was so neat!

RebekahWSD ,
@RebekahWSD@lemmy.world avatar

I still play it occasionally! When it works from steam, sometimes it gets weird. I think it might have been my old computer that was weird though.

I like the headdress on the one in the far back!

I'll eat a burger with a knife and fork sometimes, usually if it's a tall or messy burger!

It isn't considered normal though, if people's mild amused reactions are anything to go by.

I'm very lucky chubby cat accepts all her fates with quiet confusion, including being placed into a carrier and being at the vet.

Her brain just lags so much by the time she's processed the indignity she's onto something else she must now process quietly.

Fresh strawberries are amazing, I need to find a farm stands again that sells them!

RebekahWSD ,
@RebekahWSD@lemmy.world avatar

I like physically building computers!

It's everything after trying to make them do work that's annoying.

RebekahWSD ,
@RebekahWSD@lemmy.world avatar

I suppose the anti cat gate. Got it because new kitten wasn't getting along with adult cat. Kitten continued to not get along despite doing everything and asking the vet for more advice.

Kitten is with my mother and her cats and he gets along with both of them.

The anti cat gate stands there, expensively.

I love the (painting? photo?) in the background, at a birthday party!

Someone sent my mother a letter from Australia to the USA with only my mother's first name, the state, and the city marked

Luckily my mother has an extremely unique first name so our postman saw the letter attached to the "unknown letter wall", went "oh I know that name"and brought it to mother.

My grandmother talked about iodine in salt sometimes. She also talked about classmates coming down with polio and mumps and such and then never coming to school again. She was always delighted by the progress made to food science.

This feels lovely and warm! I enjoy it, thank you!

Local gaming store. I joined one of the tabletop rpgs. We talked a lot after this. He had cats which endeared me to him. I met his cats. His cats liked me. He also had a trashcan in the bathroom so I knew he was smart. We've been together uhhhh 17 years this December I think.

Haha, it was a minor flag but it's good! A lot of bachelors just seem to not have them. Even though they're useful in more than "once a month I must have one" kind of way!

RebekahWSD ,

Feels like its too nice to be NJ, but I only say that while currently inside the pine barrens

I've only understood two of these comics, but I really love the art style and being confused, so I keep coming back to them! Thank you for existing!

I had no mask for my surgery. Maybe because it was removing wisdom teeth.

My surgery was then starting liquid in my arm. I'm wheeled to the surgery room where three nurses are setting things up.

They see I'm nervous. "Don't worry! Doctor X is very good," she pauses. "We do call him the velociraptor though."

"Why?"

"Because he has short arms!"

"That's mean!" I say.

They laugh. "You won't remember, it's fine."

"I'll remember!" I try and say, but my mouth is full of gauze and I'm in a very different room.

No sense of passage of time. In surgery, then in recovery. Hated that.
