    I was just informed that the Guardian (UK) is prepping to do a story on DIY HRT and is looking to interview trans folk, particularly teens.

    The story will almost certainly be weaponized by conservatives to argue for removing access to the necessary materials.

    Just like with the police, anything you say can and will be used against you by mainstream media.

    @alice It's your brain melting. At least, that's what my colleagues in my first job used to say. They had a point in that I used to use Contac 400 to reduce the flow. It sort of worked but it also meant that I was half asleep all day.

    @alice @catsalad The trick, for me at least, is to just lay down and not try to sleep. Set a timer for around half an hour before you lay down so that you don't sleep too long.

    @loren I've never seen the point of having someone scrawl their name on something that I'm buying from them. Having said that, if you're going to sign them you should do so with a pen. Really though it should be up to the person who's buying them. Of course, if you're not selling them in person that could be tricky.

    I think one of my favorite human interactions is finding something that was misplaced and returning it. I just found someone’s glasses in the mud and almost immediately ran into the owner hahaha they were so happy

    If, hypothetically, your kid sets an alarm on their iPad for 9999 minutes in the future, and it wakes you up at 4 AM, and then—after you have a talk with them about it—they do it again with their phone, but this time it wakes you up at 2 AM and you have to search the house to find it…it's not technically illegal if you sell them to the circus, right? That would be a completely normal reaction, right?

    🥰 So fulfilling! 🥰 A friend just brought their little daughter over to my place, because she had a journal with a 3 wheel combination lock on it, and she'd forgotten the combo.

    I showed her how to decode it, and eventually she got it open! We changed the combo and locked it again so she could practice more.

    After a bit, she was asking about other kinds of locks, so I happily brought out an assortment of antique and miniature locks from my collection.

    A couple hours later they had to leave, and she was beaming! Today she had picked 2 warded locks, a pair of police cuffs, raked open a 4-pin tumbler, and decoded a combination lock!

    I sent her off with a smiley yellow binder clip and a minuscule warded lock to practice on.

    They asked to come back next week to learn more. 💜

    I feel like the Yoda of lock-sport. 🙂

    Update: Friend just texted me to say their daughter is thinking of starting a YouTube channel to document her growth in lock-sport, and wanted advice on gear/setup stuff.

    @alice No problem, thanks for replying. The trouble is, there was quite a gap between making the PIN and needing to use it. I know that I came up with it myself and normally I use one of a few numbers. I've been through all the numbers I normally use and none of them work. Unfortunately, I've tried so many that I'm now limited to one attempt every 3,600 seconds or 1 hour to you and me. I really should write down the numbers I've tried so that I can cross them off the list.

    @alice I've downloaded adb but how do I use it to examine the tablet's filesystem so that I can transfer the file, or delete it if it's no longer needed? I want to do something along the lines of: "ls -a <path-to-folder>" but I don't see from Google's website how to do that.
