Our electric tea kettle has died after just a few weeks - sprung a leak. This is our third kettle THIS YEAR. Manufacturing is basically crap now, I know, but I really, really need my tea. I gotta solve this. I'm thinking a stovetop kettle? But we have an induction stove.
Any #tea lovers have a favorite teapot/kettle that works on an induction stove?
Happy Friday everyone! I hope you all get in some time today to rest! :bunhdheart:
After all, rest is essential, even for things you love doing! And sometimes a break gives you space to figure out something you're stuck on! So I hope you have a good rest! :bunhdcomfyhappy:
Today's tea will be Assam milk tea because it definitely makes me happy! What are you brewing up today? :blobfoxflooftea:
Got this this 2015 Hojo Ma An Shan from liquidproust a few years back. Hojo is a Japanese tea company that sources teas from various places, including Yunnan, China. The Ma An Shan is an unusual raw Puerh, almost tastes like an oolong, fruity and very sweet, but with a raw Puerh backbone. One of those, "a tea that seems a little different every time I try it and I wish I had more than this one sample," kind of things...
Happy Tuesday! I hope today you get to draw or sew or build or create something that makes you smile! Yes scribbles in the margins 1000% count, those are some of my favorites! :bunhdheart:
After all, everyone has the potential to create! We just get told that Only Artists Can Make Art, which was never the case! Go make something for the joy of it! :bunhdlurkaww:
Today's tea is likely chai, as I'm dealing with a bad sore throat, boo! What are you brewing up today? :blobfoxflooftea:
Happy Sunday! I hope you're all doing so well and getting some good rest in! :bunhdheart:
I think today's tea will be a London Fog, but it's almost time to do a summer order and I want to get all the cold brew options! Jasmine and white peach and maybe some fun Japanese teas! So many tasty options for tea science! :ablobcatbongo:
Honeyed Pomelo Dancong Oolong is pretty weird to drink. It does in fact pretty closely mimic the flavors/scents of citrus flowers and wildflower honey. Who can complain about that?
It appears to be National Tea Day here in the UK (thanks to @sheepnik for highlighting this).
I should probably know this. But every day is tea day, surely.
Anyway, I hope everyone can have a nice cup of tea and a sit down. If this day is to celebrate British tea traditions, then it must presumably be obligatory to also have a biscuit and a moan about the weather.
I have just made a pot of longjing, and it's really quite miserable outside.
If you like chai, one of the better cups of milky chai in San Francisco is at Haraz Coffee House on Bush & Franklin. The Adeni / karak shai is similar in spirit (almost exactly identical) to Indian chai.
One More Red Saturday, cue the King Crimson, Astro Red black tea from White2Tea. (Gotta spend some time in the stash today and locate the Astro Kittens cake for comparison.)
Happy Saturday everyone! I hope you're having a most lovely day! :bunhdheart:
I'm having a slow start to the day, Assam milk tea at the ready! It feels like a good day for a long walk and reading for sure! :bunhdcomfyhappy:
(Also since all of our neighbors are 4/20 partakers, we're trying to figure out how to get through the day with a minimum of eye irritation! :blobfoxlaughsweat:)
Emerald buds green tea has a nut or grain like scent, a bit similar to longjing dragonwell. It is from Guizhou Province and the name is translated from "cui ya".
2017 Mangjing Ripe from Farmer Leaf. A tea producer friend of farmer leaf reserved a small portion of their raw puerh maocha over several years. It was stored in fairly wet conditions in their Yunnan warehouse. In 2017, they processed that accumulated maocha into a small batch of ripe puerh. It was pressed into cakes in 2019.
They say the storage was wet, but no mold/mildew notes in the flavor. I like the flavor, on the darker side, and the energy is strong and very pleasant. After trying, I ordered a cake.
The silver lining of all my weird post-Covid sensitivities is they nudged me to get back into more straightforward leaves as opposed to complicated blends.
So far I have loved ZPSX quite a bit, as well as greens Enshi Yu Lu & have been a longtime Japanese greens (sencha, kukicha, matcha, genmaicha). In general grassier & milkier flavors are my jam. I did grow a soft spot for the honey notes in Golden Flowers Heicha too.
I really hate waiting for parcels from Royal Mail. They text me over the weekend to say my parcel was due today between 8:50 - 12:50.
It is now nearly 6pm and no sign of the parcel. Their tracking just says it is "In transit" on its way to me.
I had given up, but then saw a Royal Mail van delivering parcels on the opposite side of the green just after 5pm. I need to go out now, and still no idea what is going on. #stress
Hurrah, my parcel has arrived (despite the Royal Mail tracking system having no idea that it ever left the Midlands Mail centre).
Even better news, it contains my latest batch of #tea from #white2tea - mainly raw Puerh, but a couple of the latest green harvest, some oolongs, and a ripe and white hidden in there too. @tea
Recently tried my first Pu-Erh. I don't know what I thought it was going to taste like, but I didn't expect it to taste like actual wood.
Of course I bought an entire bag instead of a sample, because samples are really pricey for how little tea they contain. So sunk-cost fallacy demands that I acquire the taste.
@tea
Hello #tea lovers. I'm looking for #puerh recommendations available as samples (in the US). I've acquired the taste and now I want to try more. I keep hearing how interesting puerhs can be, and I'm feeling a little adventurous.
