After a few days of hotel tea packet dust and watery diner iced tea, nice to be back to actual tea. DalunShan Red High Mountain Oolong from Mud and Leaves.
@dave_heumann Yeah, making tea in the US sucks unless you bring all the fixings. I just was struggling with space in the luggage this trip. Most "fancy" hotels have pod brewers, so the best you can do is vaguely coffee flavored lukewarm water. I don't even want to use good tea with that water. @tea
Happy Monday from Monday! I hope your week is off to a fantastic start! :bunhdheart:
Today's a great day to try something new! Add some enrichment to your week! So maybe today you bake that cookie recipe you were eyeing, or check out a nearby park that's not on your usual route! Yeah! :blobfoxaww:
And today’s tea is up in the air, but the temptation to just have chai is so real! (I mean, it’s so comfy and my throat is so sore ^^; ) What are you brewing up? :blobfoxflooftea:
Happy Friday! I hope it’s going so well whether your week is starting or ending! :bunhdheart:
For some chill happy vibes for the day, here’s one of my favorite food YouTubers, Nebokgom! It’s basically daily life and baking in a small Korean cafe, with subtitles! I hope they can make your day a little sweeter! ^^ https://www.youtube.com/@nebokgom/videos
Today’s tea is cold milk tea! It's too hot for much else, though I wish we were up for making boba! What are you brewing up? :blobfoxflooftea:
@kolev The short answer is that Bai Lin Gongfu and Dian Hong are made from different cultivars: different subspecies, actually, since DH is made from assamica. Beyond that, by now, 85 years since its creation, DH covers a wide range of teas.
Happy Monday from Monday! I hope it's starting out super lovely for all of you so far! :bunhdheart:
And I hope you all get to try something that's new to you today! Maybe you take a new path, visit a new bakery, or even try baking a new cookie recipe at home! Something that can make today a bit extra special is always worth it! :bunhdlurkaww:
Today's tea shall be chai, because it's cloudy out and extra cozy vibes are needed! What are you brewing up? :blobfoxflooftea:
Yunnan Sourcing GABA Oolong with osmanthus flowers via a trade with a tea friend. As I understand it, "GABA" teas are processed in an anaerobic environment which encourages the presence of Gamma-aminobutyric acid in the tea. Osmanthus flowers have a taste/smell similar to apricot or peach, you'll probably recognize it from herbal iced tea (tisane) at hippie cafes.
I've tried a few GABA teas over the years and can't say I particularly enjoy the flavor. I guess people either like their peculiar taste or are drinking them for non-aesthetic reasons. Osmanthus flowers are probably a good distracting taste. @tea
Actually turned up this sample bag of One River Tea 2018 Shoumei Fuding white tea in a weird corner while I was cleaning in my office. I thought I had drunk all of my stock of this tea. Not sure how it got to where it was, but finding a very nice aged white tea is always a pleasure. My wife called the flavor, "grandma's closet".
