Happy Monday! I hope your day has started off as lovely as it can be! :bunhdheart:
Today feels like a reminder to check on the non-standard things you need to clean? Like dusting shelves and replacing air filters! They can make a big difference in feeling comfy! :bunhdlurk:
Today's tea was a half batch test of the Korean style milk tea and wow it was stronk! But also... kinda tasted like a tea shortbread cookie? So that was neat! What are you all brewing up? :blobfoxflooftea:
Early spring 2024 Song Luo Cha green tea from Anhui Province via MyTeaPal. A historically significant tea; light flavor, a bit toasty, darker green/vegetal, sweet core, slightly drying aftertaste. For what it is worth, it reminds me a bit of fresh raw spring liubao, but a more refined version.
Enjoying some Oolong tea from Taiwan. Gang Kou Cha, 港口茶 – something about the sea? In German, it's named "Meer Oolong". Babelcarp to the rescue: https://babelcarp.org/babelcarp/junk.cgi?phrase=%E6%B8%AF%E5%8F%A3%E8%8C%B6 → "literally Harbor Tea: a lightly-oxidized Pingtung oolong, traditionally rolled and dried in the same wok, with appearance similar to meicha"
I like it! @tea#tea
Alas, this really is the last dose of Astro Red Yunnan black tea from White2Tea. Gonna be some hard choices next "Red Saturday". Until then, I will savor this today.
Happy Thursday everyone! I hope it's a lovely day so far! :bunhdheart:
And have a reminder to take care of your basic needs, like food, water, and stretch breaks! But also the small things that just make your day work, like having your favorite pillow at your desk chair! They all matter for happier days! :abunhdhappy:
Today's tea is a test of yesterday's milk tea to see if it's drinkable! (There was SO MUCH tea! We couldn't drink it all!) What are you brewing up? :blobfoxflooftea:
Happy Monday everyone! I hope you're having a most lovely day! :bunhdheart:
Mondays are a state of mind, but it doesn't have to be a bad one? And I think it's always worth giving yourself extra treats and care on days you expect to be rough! You deserve it! :bunhdlurkaww:
Today's tea is super strong chai! Chai to wake the senses from the next room! (No really, I'm in the next room and I can smell the ginger!) What are you brewing up today? :blobfoxflooftea:
Gold Magnolia Dancong from White2Tea is a Lighter roast, lighter oxidation oolong. Varietal is "jin yu lan". I should maybe have drunk it sooner, it is a little shy about its flavor.
Happy Saturday! I hope you're all doing well! :bunhdheart:
Something I'm trying to get better at is giving myself time to just be present, without expectations? Like I feel the most present when I go on a walk by myself or bake, and so I'm trying to figure out more ways to do that coming up! And I hope you can have your own version too! :bunhdlurkaww:
Today's tea is going to be Earl Grey at this rate! What are you all brewing up? :blobfoxflooftea:
Down to a couple doses of Astro Red Yunnan black tea from White2Tea. This one was mostly dust and broken leaves. Keeping the steeps very short, basically water in, pour it out. Should probably have used tea strainer.
Happy Friday! I hope you're all doing well and adding rest to your day! Even if it's not your weekend, you deserve rest! :bunhdheart:
I think it's too easy to not remember to add in rest? There's always one more task, one more important thing to do. But they can almost always wait for you, and future you will appreciate the rest! :bunhdcomfyhappy:
Today's tea was Assam milk tea, it felt like a day for going classic comfy tea! What are you all brewing up? :blobfoxflooftea:
I'm always a little nervous about Long Jing Dragonwell green tea. It's sort of a situation like Italian Extra Virgin Olive Oil, where it seems like there is more Italian Extra Virgin olive oil on the market than could be grown in Italy. Same for Long Jing Dragonwell, it seems like there is more Dragonwell tea on the market than could possibly be grown in Long Jing Village. Plus, I had a really bad body experience once with Dragonwell green tea.
In any case, this is a very nice Dragonwell, "Mr Long's Studio," from One River Tea, toasty nutty scent, sweet chestnut flavor, clean light taste, even oversteeped.
Is there any better tea than well aged gongmei/shoumei white tea? Maybe, but I just enjoy everything about well aged white tea. This is a 2013 Fuding Shoumei that Yunnan Sourcing sold a while back. One of the first teas I ordered from them.
Prosbloom is one of my favorite White2Tea skull themed labels. The tea itself is high quality, reasonable price, fresh shou puerh tea. 2021, just getting better with age.
Happy Monday! I hope you're all taking it as gently as you can! Some days you just need a good cuppa and a gentle start :bunhdcomfyhappy:
Also remember to get some stretching in! Consider this your reminder to do some stretches if you haven't done any today! :bunhdlurkaww:
And today's cup of tea is chai! We're moving to using chai masala instead of whole spices, but both are tasty! What are you brewing up today? :blobfoxflooftea:
Honeyed Pomelo Dancong from White2Tea. Good, but not my favorite Dancong. I like the smell when brewing but something in the flavor balance that is not quite there for me.
Our electric tea kettle has died after just a few weeks - sprung a leak. This is our third kettle THIS YEAR. Manufacturing is basically crap now, I know, but I really, really need my tea. I gotta solve this. I'm thinking a stovetop kettle? But we have an induction stove.
Any #tea lovers have a favorite teapot/kettle that works on an induction stove?
