The amount of lines I had to go back over was mind boggling

ouRKaoS ,

So your legs and core are developed from transporting your own body weight, but your upper body is weak from only lifting noodles?

ouRKaoS ,

I think my favorite "recent" superhero movie is the first Guardians of the Galaxy. The whole thing just developed organically and nothing at all felt like filler.

ouRKaoS ,

If we're talking random animal Cafes, I want a lizard cafe with separate rooms for tropical and desert lizards.

ouRKaoS ,

some crazy thing that hooked up to my TV at home that used cassette tapes.

Sounds like my first computer, Tandy Color Computer from Radio Shack. Had it hooked to the TV via RF, & learned to program in BASIC.

I participated in the world's largest secret Santa, but Guinness can get fucked for pestering me about buying a commemorative certificate.

Writers of Lemmy, what good character qualities/virtues do your main characters have that you don't?

A fascinating question because I used to intentionally make my characters Mary Sues. As a former child who used to write, for a while I never understood why people would give character traits they disagree with to the character or characters who are supposed to represent what is right in your world, since they're the ones...

There is something likeable in people that stick to their guns no matter what, though. I can respect a crazy, unlikeable bastard that doesn't go easy on someone because of some societal norm.

ouRKaoS ,

Is that the one where Bugs has a giant hammer? I remember renting that as a kid for the weekend and I beat it Friday night.

This picture pisses me off Everytime I see it because they didn't line up the Pizza Hut logo to give the pyramid a hat.

the 5'10" but will still wear 5-in heals, 250 lb muscular woman who knows what way to twist a head to sever the vertebral artery. 🫠

They don't even look at your application until you fail out of rehab twice

Today feels like a good day to play Transistor again... I keep getting owned in Hades 2

ouRKaoS ,

Just wait...

A queen sized bed is only big enough for one 5 year old. Trying to get more people in there results in sleeping on the couch so you don't punch your child.

NES/Famicom Box Art ( lemm.ee )

We were having a chat about retro box art on my Discord server, so I was browsing some Famicom box art today. I don't have a ton of NES (North America) ones I like, as it's a lot of this kind of thing, but there are a bunch of Japan ones I like. The post link is for Destiny of an Emperor 「天地を喰らう」. I also like the...

The original Mega Man is iconic for all the wrong reasons

ouRKaoS ,

Definitely Kelvin. Climate change is a bitch

ouRKaoS ,

Mike's Hard Lemonade is a good one, too.

ouRKaoS ,

I'd go as far to say that it's depressingly plausible.

ouRKaoS ,

Yes.

It is either one or three symbols.

ouRKaoS ,

That lady would have left with less teeth.

I always love when people answer my questions with an "I need to do some research", that's how you know you have a valid argument with someone.

Last time I can remember getting that response in an actual conversation was during the NFL kneeling protests. I guy I work with kept repeating how disrespectful it was to kneel, so I asked "Is it disrespectful to God when you kneel in prayer?" You could practically see the hamster fall off the wheel, and he said he needed to speak with his pastor.

ouRKaoS ,

After repeating it out loud for a bit, it comes out more like "hah" than "ho"

A friend of mine was baffled when I told him that Tarkin was CGI in Rouge One

Favorite obscure multiplayer game?

I just got a RG353v and a friend at work has a modded switch. We were planning on playing games at lunch and I am looking for recommendations. We are both fans of 4-5th gen and will probably play those the most. Any genre of game is fine, co op or competitive is fine too. So far we have windjammers as a go to but I want to...

First game I bought for GBA. The amount of puzzles it came with was ridiculous!

ouRKaoS ,

Yup! Included a bunch of user created levels that were submitted online, and you could play multiplayer via Link cable.

Can get it on eBay for like $20, and it's still worth it!

ouRKaoS ,

Posting things online.

I have no "traditional" social media accounts, and over half the comments I type here I delete without posting. I don't like people judging me & talking behind my back, so my introvert tendencies include semi anonymous things like Lemmy.

"I need an adult!!! Wait... I am the adult!?"

ouRKaoS ,

The one universe where Link is not incredibly OP.

ouRKaoS ,

I mained Ivy, so maybe it was just range & constant sidestepping that gave me no issues with Link.

ouRKaoS ,

Also, there's 2 versions of GameCube. The OG run is capable of 480p via Component cables, this was removed in the later runs.

If you're looking, that first run is the way to go.

ouRKaoS ,

I've had a "Breakfast Burger" with a fried egg, shredded hash browns, bacon, and sausage gravy.

Probably took 6 months off my life, but it was delicious!

ouRKaoS ,

Not sure if it's unpopular or not, but the smell of peanut butter is disgusting. The taste is fine, but the smell 🤮

ouRKaoS ,

the cats are only kinda interested in it

Have you tried giving them the box it came in?

ouRKaoS ,

That reminds me: the Braid anniversary edition came out recently and I need to play that game again.

ouRKaoS ,

No kidding. Let's take the Flagship N64 arcade title and make it work on a 16bit home system.

Someone had to be high AF to come up with that idea.

I will never not be able to hear baby Mario's wailing whenever someone mentions this game...

Why doesn't youtube shut down their public web api?

so we already know that youtube doesn't like people freeloading their bandwidth using something like invidious, piped, newpipe etc. why don't they just close the public web api and require a login or something. by requiring login they can keep track of what users are watching and if a user is watching thousands of videos daily...

ouRKaoS ,

I could see TikTok trying to eat YouTube's lunch with extended length, or Twitch offering videos.

I remember back in the day linking 3 computers together, each running a copy of Doom, to get a pseudo VR type setup where the two computers on the sides showed a left and right view of your perspective.

Was a bitch to setup back in the CRT days, and we only did it once, but it was pretty cool. I'm sure a modern computer could handle that on its own now, but I have no idea how you'd set that up software wise.

ouRKaoS ,

I'm old enough to remember renting Faces of Death on VHS.

Side of bed debate - Which side is left?

Which side of the bed is the left side? Is the answer based on the perspective of laying in the bed (person's head at the head end)? Is the answer based on viewing it from the foot of the bed, looking at the head of the bed? Is there an "anatomical position" or special terminology like in boating for this?...

ouRKaoS ,

I would say the prevalence of K-Pop. The occasional foreign language song would hit the charts every once in a while, but for an entire genre of foreign music to have fans everywhere is surprising.

ouRKaoS ,

If you have a friend with a Cricut/Silhouette machine, they can make you some custom stickers pretty easily.

Cover it in FOSS logos.
