Michael Cohen suggests Trump’s mounting legal fees make him ‘thoroughly compromised’: ‘He is for sale’ ( thehill.com )

Michael Cohen — who long served as former President Trump’s personal lawyer and fixer — warned Sunday of the potential risk of sending Trump back to the White House with mounting legal fees and financial liabilities....

That is why background investigations for security clearances go deep into that stuff. Can't be cleared? Shouldn't hold office.

Before being president, you are a citizen. If you can't be cleared, you shouldn't be eligible to run.

Possible to get away from LinkedIn and Github?

I'm a career transitioner looking to get a higher paying job working as a Web Developer. I've been self teaching for a bit over 3.5 years now and am currently working part time at a very small start up while still working on my own personal projects and slowly researching and studying CS topics....

knobbysideup ,
@knobbysideup@sh.itjust.works avatar

I've never landed an interview or gotten a job based on LinkedIn. I think anybody who places an emphasis on that garbage is toxic and you don't want to work for them.

That's what one of the other trials is about.

Trump Is Losing It: It is unclear whether Donald Trump has forgotten the precise nature of NATO or whether he ever fully grasped it in the first place. ( www.nytimes.com )

What is clear, however, is that Trump — who ostensibly spent four years as president of the United States — has little clue about what NATO is or what NATO does. And when he spoke on the subject at a rally in South Carolina over the weekend, what he said was less a cogent discussion of foreign policy than it was gibberish...

knobbysideup ,
@knobbysideup@sh.itjust.works avatar

He thinks NATO is his slum tenants and fancies himself a mob boss getting paid protection money.

knobbysideup ,
@knobbysideup@sh.itjust.works avatar

Yes that may be an issue. The bigger issue is leadership vs tyranny. How Trump is even a consideration to run rather than swinging from a tree is terrifically uninspiring.

Let's skip the AI and give thunderbird some love instead. Then again, it's pretty feature complete as is. Just keep it up to date to keep running and secure.

I tried, I really did

I've been an IT professional for 20 years now, but I've mainly dealt with Windows. I've worked with Linux servers through out the years, but never had Linux as a daily driver. And I decided it was time to change. I only had 2 requirements. One, I need to be able to use my Nvidia 3080 ti for local LLM and I need to be able to RDP...

Bummer that it's giving you such a hard time. On rdp: Linux/Linux doesn't even need it. ssh to remote. Run gui app. It runs on remote and displays locally. Wayland is probably going to kill that though. Until it does, the X11 client / server model is pretty swank.

And where is Melania? Not with you at your pep rallies and court dates... Fucking clown.

Now he knows how it feels. Love just trying to get a donut on my way to work and some old lady has 2 months worth of groceries at 6am and wants to pay with a check. And there's one lane open.

Not to mention clothing, housing, food are all taken care of too. Not to mention perks of military base discounts and programs.

Stop telling me what to do. Your post is exactly what you are complaining of. Those with the curiosity and aptitude will gravitate to the tech that serves their needs. Usually on their own, regardless of what anybody else tells them. How do you think Linux came to dominate Internet infrastructure in the first place.

Go preach elsewhere.

How is it legal to use campaign funds for personal legal costs?

Linode has been ok for me. I wouldn't use their managed services. If you need that type of scale go to AWS.

One cool thing I experienced with linode yesterday is I could boot from one of their kernels instead of my own grub kernel. I had a bad update on alma9 and this made recovery much easier without having to rebuild the node.

Elections have become entertainment. Same with the house and senate. Everybody wants to be famous.

I wish mainstream outlets would stop propagating this nonsense as news. Stop giving them a platform.

While swatting is a shit thing to do, I feel that police departments that treat these calls as legit without their own due diligence is a much bigger problem.

Camacho actually tried to help the people though. And he listened to his 'expert' and fixed the problems.

Trump, the GOP, maga is so much worse than Idiocracy.

Moving our naemon/thruk/pnp instance to omd. I need to figure out how to manage it with ansible and add our own authentication. Otherwise I hope it is easier to maintain.

    If you don't want to share information on a public forum, then don't.

    knobbysideup ,
    @knobbysideup@sh.itjust.works avatar

    Not always. Only for-profit driven companies that offer no tangible product.

    Many of the forums that I hosted were free to the orgs that used them. I'm already paying for the server and network for my own use, so why not give back to the communities that I am a part of with my other skills as a sysadmin?

    Climate change or not, "pollution is fine so long as I am profiting off of it" is the real problem. At least the last administration's gutting of the EPA was somewhat reversed. Remember we used to have rivers on fire from toxic waste. Regulations fixed that.

    Another way to write this: "A significant portion of the US population is remarkably stupid"

    I remember thinking "so what?" about the propaganda and disinformation campaigns by Russia in 2016. How could such a thing work against a country like the USA? What a wake up call that election was. And it's only continuing to get worse. People are fucking stupid beyond belief.

    This is why ad blockers should always be used. Small devs don't have relationships with advertisers or control over what ad networks will do.

    Or you can pay once and be done with them. I think the price of a burger is not a big ask for something you use every day.

    I do both.

    To be truly effective you must also block DoH and DoT. The first can only be done with endpoint lists, since it is https.

    Any web hosting company will use Linux for all servers, and many developers will use it as their workstation as they tire of kludging together dev environments in windows. The devops engineers will most certainly be on Linux as that is where their tool chains live.

    There are government agencies that use Linux exclusively. The DoD used to have a mandate to use oss. I'm not sure if it is still the case.

    Scientists, HPC.

    I have a few of them. Not bad with projectivy launcher. I added wired Ethernet, storage, and audio out with otg cables.
