It's #Friday! (and that means following fantastic folks for fun and f..fascism fighting? frantic flailing? I don't know, something else that starts with Fs)
And it's hard to do better than following someone from my thread of frickin' fantastic fellow female figures, founders, and firebrands! :neocat_fingerguns:
Also, I'm getting real close to 3000 followers (which is un-fucking-believable)! :ablobcatheart:
So, if you like posts like the following, consider following like these posts (I promise to use my power only for good and occasional mischief) :ablobcatangel:
Thank you so much @Paul_Jackson Captain Jack and Maisy for supporting my husbands 10k trail run on 26 May 2024 for Cats Protection 💜🤍💜 You’re a true cat ⭐️ @MistorJogJog
@NyakoKitty@Paul_Jackson thank you very much for your kind donation. I appreciate your support Captain Jack and Maisy, it’ll help me get across the finish line 🧡🤎🧡
For today's #ThankYouTuesday, I want to express my gratitude to the entire open-source community. Past, present, and future. I owe so much to what many developers, sysadmins, enthusiasts have built and maintained. I've always believed that culture should be free and accessible to all, and the OSS community has made it possible to study, learn, and implement complex and professional solutions without the need for closed systems, licenses, or expensive "certification" courses.

Nobody's here just because it's trendy. If you're here, you want to be here.
The best social media experience I've had in years.
Thank you to all of you, among these 15 million accounts, who have helped make this a wonderful place to be.
....no...no it does not. You DO have the ability to delete your content and it should get removed on other servers, but due to a number of varying factors, that could fail.
It's easy to get grumpy at @ubuntu for decisions you may not love or agree with because your use case doesn't match those they were made for, but I think we owe them a big thank you for pouring the blood, sweat and tears they do into keeping our machines stable.
I just upgraded my development VM from 23.04 to 23.10 over an ssh session with do-release-upgrade and there was nary a hiccup.
I had to re-install a single Neovim plugin (I can handle two keystrokes in my plugin manager, thanks :), and that was it!
Really impressive stuff Canonical. While I don't know your names I also want to thank all the individual humans behind this effort. There's a lot of love in that distro, and it shows!
I want to publicly thank @grunfink for creating the amazing snac2, which powers my instance.
They've read everything I noted, suggested changes, and adapted the code to make it work optimally even on my slow VM. If all open source developers were as kind and helpful as they have been with me, the world would be an idyllic place.
A shoutout to @stefano too - using snac2 was his idea, and he's responsible for the technical implementation of the instance.
And thanks to everyone who makes my timeline interesting and complete - without you, all of this would be utterly pointless.
Update: Since this post is getting attention again, I should probably let everyone know that I got #FediHired by a nice little AI company about two months ago 👩🏻🎤 thank you all for helping make that possible, and I'm sorry for blowing up your timelines with this update 🤪
Well, the company I work(ed) for just folded. Poof! 💩⛈️.
No notice, no severance, no nothing. 🤬
So I'm asking for boosts and leads. If anyone needs someone who knows data, please reach out.
I'm located in Seattle, WA. Remote preferred.
Last few titles include: CDO, Head of Data, and Sr. Operations Analyst.
I've worked in gaming, fintech, and B2C/C2C marketplaces most recently.
I'm proficient in Python, SQL, statistics, team management, (almost) all things data-related, and a host of other stuff.
I'm opinionated and anti-capitalist, but I also routinely bring in multiple times my department's cost in profits for the companies I work for.
I'm also hella nice (despite my RBF) and easy to get along with.
God, pitching myself is so awkward.
That's the toot. Thanks.
💜💜💜
Edit: I wanted to say thank you to everyone who is sharing this and a huge thank you to everyone who has reached out with encouragement and leads. This community is amazing.
Edit 2: I'm going through all the replies I got, and will reach out to a lot of you soon. I've just finished updating my resume and LinkedIn.
I realize that I'm going to have to give up some of my anonymity when I respond to people, so I'd really appreciate it if anyone I send my resume or LinkedIn profile to could keep my work and personal life separate. Thank you.
💜💜💜
