Hey Fediverse, I’m still ! I have 20+ years of experience in automation and backend development, as well as infrastructure (physical and cloud) and DevOps (we used to call this “systems”).

Love me some Python, C-based languages, Rust, and Perl. (Yes, I said it.) I cut my teeth on *BSD and have written software throughout the stack from device drivers through UX/UI for web and mobile. I’m a generalist and polyglot at heart.

get at my company!

we've got one frontend software dev position (fully remote, US based) and one position for someone to run our ICS cyber range (this is a lot more niche and onsite, but if that sounds interesting to you please lmk!)

I've really enjoyed working here and it's full of great people, solid pay, good benefits, etc. have felt very welcomed as a trans person (and I'm not the only one! but I'd welcome more!).

please DM me if you're interested in either role and I'll share more info!

(edit: sorry, didn't realize the remote one specifies US-based. I'm not sure why that's the case but it is what the job posting says)

So I’m actively job hunting. If you’re interested or happen to know of something awesome feel free to hit me up.

Cybersecurity research engineer, ~7 years exp, MS in Applied CS. Focus for the past few years has mostly been hardware, embedded, & training. In a previous life I was a research assistant in a few different nanotech labs.

Based in SoCal at the moment, lots of experience working remote but potentially open to relocation under the right circumstances.

I’m waiting to hear back on a few interviews that went well but figured I should ask around before getting too set on a specific option.

I've been unexpectedly laid off, & am looking for a new role. I have a PhD in quantum physics, lasers, & optical sensors, & experience in integrated photonics design.

I'm open to roles as a technical contributor, doing engineering & research. I've also been an adjunct professor & a teaching assistant, which I loved. I'm not able to relocate right now, so I'm looking for roles in Minnesota or remote.

Thank you in advance for any connections, advice, or opportunities

Hi everyone. I'm going to share a new .

I'm a (they/them) movement journalist in my 40s, currently based in Central . From 2022 until today's layoffs, I was Digital Editor at the @TexasObserver. I've been a writer, journalist, editor since at least 2011, when I got my start on the primordial political blog Firedoglake. My involvement with the Occupy Wall Street movement helped make me a journo and I've always worn my bias on my sleeve. (1/?)

Some other job titles I've had included hemp reporter, editor, bookseller... I'm hoping to continue as a journalist or editor or otherwise in the media or nonprofit industry, and hoping to get .

It's all a bit of a shock today so let me share a little more about myself in this sprawling thread as I think of it.

I'm very proud of the work I did at the @TexasObserver, which I helped save from the brink of closing last year, in large part through the assistance of the fediverse. (2/?)

Most of all, I hope I can continue to reach people and make a difference after losing such an important platform for my work. Fingers crossed I can keep doing what I do. Thanks in advance for any job tips, or story leads, that folks feel like sending my way.

Well, that fucking sucks. I just went into my o3 meeting with the boss and was told that I don't have a job anymore. If anybody is looking for an experienced #vue / #node / #php dev in the #Milwaukee area (or remote), let me know.

Update: Since this post is getting attention again, I should probably let everyone know that I got by a nice little AI company about two months ago 👩🏻‍🎤 thank you all for helping make that possible, and I'm sorry for blowing up your timelines with this update 🤪

Well, the company I work(ed) for just folded. Poof! 💩⛈️.
No notice, no severance, no nothing. 🤬

So I'm asking for boosts and leads. If anyone needs someone who knows data, please reach out.

I'm located in Seattle, WA. Remote preferred.

Last few titles include: CDO, Head of Data, and Sr. Operations Analyst.

I've worked in gaming, fintech, and B2C/C2C marketplaces most recently.

I'm proficient in Python, SQL, statistics, team management, (almost) all things data-related, and a host of other stuff.

I'm opinionated and anti-capitalist, but I also routinely bring in multiple times my department's cost in profits for the companies I work for.

I'm also hella nice (despite my RBF) and easy to get along with.

God, pitching myself is so awkward.

That's the toot. Thanks.

💜💜💜
Edit: I wanted to say thank you to everyone who is sharing this and a huge thank you to everyone who has reached out with encouragement and leads. This community is amazing.

Edit 2: I'm going through all the replies I got, and will reach out to a lot of you soon. I've just finished updating my resume and LinkedIn.

I realize that I'm going to have to give up some of my anonymity when I respond to people, so I'd really appreciate it if anyone I send my resume or LinkedIn profile to could keep my work and personal life separate. Thank you.
💜💜💜
