All gamepads that have it having a BAXY control scheme. That's B right, A down, X left, Y up for the buttons on the right side of the gamepad. I can't tell you how many times I have pressed the wrong buttons when playing certain games all because the 3rd party switch controller I have uses ABYX or because I don't remember where the symbols are on a PlayStation controller. Dreamcast and original Xbox had their shit together with how they used BAXY for their controllers and to this day I may shit on Microsoft, but not on the BAXY control scheme on their gamepads.

The way I thought of that, as someone with a special brain (autism) is that rather than just knowing things like experience and what they use/like/dislike/etcetera, it's also good to know a breakdown of what groups of people are using Linux/answered the survey. At least there was an "I'd rather not say" kind of option in case you don't wanna give up that information.

I swear, modern Republicans are dumber than ever.

Government: A new disease is sweeping the nation! Side effects include instant death! Whatever you do, don't lick any lightbulbs!

Famous Republican/Right-wing Influencer: THE GOVERNMENT IS TRYING TO STOP US FROM LICKING LIGHTBULBS!!!!!! GO OUT AND LICK ALL THE LIGHTBULBS TO OWN THE LIBS!!!!!

That's what it feels like to me.

Get close enough to me in a very quiet area, specifically close to my heart, and you will hear ticking noises. Freaked out my older brother once because of that scenario. Mechanical heart valve.

Not gonna lie, never seen the full movie(s) and probably never will at this point since it doesn't interest me.

Freedom’s Just Another Word for Not Paying Taxes ( www.nytimes.com )

Why would billionaires support Trump? It’s not as if they’ve done badly under President Biden. Stock prices — which Trump predicted would crash if he lost in 2020 — have soared. High interest rates, which are a burden on many Americans, are if anything a net positive for wealthy people with money to invest. And I doubt...

Imagine being so rich you are delusional enough to think Democrats are scarier than someone who will most likely destroy the economy by going full on dictatorship.

IDK, probably go to the import store near my house and pick up some white rabbit milk candies to start. Then spend the rest on cheap snacks at the dollar store. However much it left, if it's just change, probably throw downtown where I live because I can guarantee some homeless drug addict might scramble to pick it up.

So far I haven't had any major issues whatsoever with MX running KDE, other than Vbox being the absolute worst to attempt to get working (which I still can't). Otherwise, works fine enough for what I need.

By opt-in I will immediately presume they mean they will let you know that they're doing it after you opt-in. I imagine it's gonna be something they still secretly do without your permission because fuck you peasant.

I don't use it much since I've already got it active on the apps I wanted it for, but on Samsung's Galaxy Store there is an app I've never found an alternative to anywhere from my limited searching: Sound Assistant.

On desktop/laptop, turning off individual app/program sounds is super easy, but this is literally the only app I've ever seen that allows you to turn off the sound for individual apps on android. Don't know if other versions of android from other brands or android 14 has that feature natively, but it's a feature I wish was native to all versions of android regardless of which large brand has made their own alterations to android.

A minor problem, though, as I assume most people probably don't give a rats ass about this.

Next thing you know they're gonna start raising their right (left?) arms at a roughly 45° angle upwards, fingers pointing to the sky, palms towards the ground. They'll silently watch the fire as they think in their tiny chimp brains that Nazis are true Americans and everyone else is an illegal alien who needs to be gassed.

Didn't know that was the name of it, at least in the context of US history. Too bad a certain mustachioed dictator ruined both that and this symbol: 卍

Based on the post title alone, I call bull because I could buy enough storage and pirate enough books in order to create an AI, using copyrighted material as the training data. Yes it would be an absolutely horrible AI since I don't have a clue what I'd be doing, but it's possible.

Imagine living in a country where you have the freedom to choose whether or not you are religious or want anything to do with it and some dumb, probably peodphilic, politicians from the south can't handle the fact that people are making a choice not to believe that an all power man in the sky controls everything. Could be me.

I can absolutely see why people go without it. Hell, my brother's friend had their family home lost in a fire. They had a ton of old ttrpg type books and games. Insurance was apparently doing whatever they could to pay as little as possible or nothing. Home insurance has become a scam because most companies will charge you an arm and a leg and then when you finally need to use it they'll automatically deny all claims and then act like they're the victims.

This is just out of the games I can recall off the top of my head and no order besides the first title being number one:

• Borderlands (specifically on xbox360 with all DLC)

• Fallout New Vegas (despite never actually beating it once)

• SuperTuxKart

• Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 Platinum Edition

• Sonic Mega Collection Plus (PS2 since I've never played it on original xbox and because I still think it's a pretty good way to experience classic Sonic for those that don't want things like savestates and those that do)

• Crazy Taxi (on Dreamcast)

• Hitman Blood Money/Absolution (purely for how much fun I manage to find in them regardless of their flaws and yes I'm counting them as a single game because I can't say I like one more than the other)

• Spyro Reignited Trilogy (so far the only game remaster I can think of where I'd recommend it over the originals because fuck Year of the Dragon and the portals leading to the minigame like sections in levels causing the music to turn off if you get too close in the original)

• Pokemon Uranium (that one fangames that got banned but is still being updated/my first experience with pokemon fangames and ROM hacks)

• Portal 2 (both on xbox360 and PC because I beat co-op on 360 by myself once and also because level editor on PC and the one level I have saved that I cannot beat despite trying on and off for years)

Whatever is at hand. Doesn't matter to me whether it's grape, strawberry, apple butter, etcetera. They normally all taste just fine when paired with peanut butter.

AceFuzzLord ,
@AceFuzzLord@lemm.ee avatar

Just looked it up to see exactly what it is and apparently it's just applesauce that's been cooked down for hours until it's thick and spreadable.

I think there are still jars of the stuff from when my sister-in-law made some around the apartment I'm in. Pretty good with peanut butter, if I say so.

Don't know what type of question you were asking, so this is the answer I'm giving.

AceFuzzLord ,
@AceFuzzLord@lemm.ee avatar

Ehh, with me, it was mostly second hand exposure with a lot of the stuff my dad watched growing up. I was lucky enough to have the choice to just leave and not watch it.

Though the second hand exposure is kinda nuts considering I'm pretty sure I've seen every episode of MASH at least 2-3 times. That, and now I'm pretty sure I've seen every episode of Emergency too. Doesn't help that they come on around the same time I'm helping in the kitchen, but still, it's crazy.

Even though I can't say I fully remember it, the beginning of yt, back when the Internet was a lot healthier than it's ever been due to the Wild West lifestyle (back before 3-4 webpages became the only place you go to).

Also, there for what I would consider the absolute best game console to come out since the beginning of the 2000s: xbox360. Also got to see what I consider the most aesthetically pleasing out of the box OS ever (W*ndows Vista)

AceFuzzLord ,

Definitely was a bad OS, but I absolutely love the aesthetic of it. That's definitely the best part of it.

  1. Chest cut open for a 2nd time for open heart surgery. Currently on blood thinners because of the mechanical valve they placed in me. A damn growth on one heart valve came back around a half decade after the first time I had my chest cut open and pre-teen me thought the valve was the coolest thing for a short while.

Though, I'm pretty sure this is also the reason my memory sometimes feels off due to how I was under bypass for longer than the surgeons expected during surgery 2.

Don't know if this type of thing counts, but I know that when either my brother or I was born one nurse wouldn't let my mom see whichever one of us it was unless she could walk a certain distance that was a technically unsafe thing for her to do in her state. She did. Eventually a doctor did come by and told her that what the nurse did was totally wrong and unacceptable. Don't remember the full story, but man moms can be such badasses.

As great as just playing the show is, I actually really like DVD/Blu-ray menus because of the little extras you get on some of them. It makes the disk feel more special compared to straight up video files on a storage device. The warnings can be a little annoying, but otherwise I don't mind as much.

Also, I'm lucky enough to have yet to find a DVD/Blu-ray that stutters or has audio glitches on the Vizio Blu-ray player I got at a thrift store, so I'm lucky.

If I were a teacher in that state, I would definitely hide it somewhere where students never look if they don't have rules on where it has to be placed. That, or if a student vandalized it, I would pretend not to see it and when asked why it's vandalized, just play dumb.

I know a way to make it feel comfortable, but it's so much harder nowadays to get away with murder and drugging people to death.

What do you think of the term "short king" as a term that's supposed to champion body positivity for men?

Body positivity is such a strange concept to me. There's efforts to reclaim words while simultaneously calling them bad if used as an insult. Ideally, people wouldn't be offended by someone describing their body with common descriptors, but socially there is so much value attributed to certain body types that it's almost...

As someone who is a few inches below average height where I live, I personally wouldn't like being called a "short king". Also, fuck those over 6 foot men for driving up the average height and unintentionally making me have an irrational annoyance because I'm short.

Was a song I hadn't heard for well over a decade. Bought a Blu-ray player from a thrift store. Whoever got rid of it forgot to sign out of Pandora, which was pre installed on it alongside some Blockbuster program of all things. Ended up using the account because I figured nobody would care (otherwise the original account owner(s) might try to unlink the account from the device if possible) and the song randomly came on. Happened maybe almost a year ago.

It was The Middle by Jimmy Eat World.

I couldn't think of many less visited sites I usually go to often, but coalregion(dot)com is an interesting site I found using this Wiby search engine a long time ago. It's a site about a region in Pennsylvania. They have a section for recipes supposedly from that region along with a section for words/slang from that regions past. They got other things, but the dictionary and recipes interest me more than the other parts.

Children's Games- Pieter Bruegel the Elder (1560), oil on wood ( lemmy.world )

[Pieter Bruegel] was a formative influence on Dutch Golden Age painting and later painting in general in his innovative choices of subject matter, as one of the first generation of artists to grow up when religious subjects had ceased to be the natural subject matter of painting. As a Plants vs Zombies fan, I tried PvZ Online during what was the final year. Same thing with the Yahoo Games Battle Cats.

Two browser games I gave up on after realizing they'd be closing the servers long before I could finish adventure mode in PvZ Online or get anywhere significant in Battle Cats.

If you could take a single character out of a piece of media (book, film, TV show, video game, etc) who would it be?

They would lose any magical powers they may have had in the book, but anything they are, rather than can do, will stay. For example people from the His Dark Materials world would keep their daemons. You can take them out at any time in the story's plot, but for all other people consuming the media, it will be shown that the...

I don't know if it counts, but if I had enough radiation protection, I'd say Urayne from Pokemon Uranium just after you defeat it for the last time and are given it alongside the core that allows it to essentially live forever. Though, I assume by that point you wouldn't need radiation protection considering you never see the player character pull out the advanced radiation suit when you gain access to use him in battle.

Don't know if doing something like the one time Curie did that quantum leap would count as a magical power, but imagine how cool it'd be to be able to teleport anywhere (depending on if quantum leap has no limits on distance) for free.

Also, I'm sure this would count as a magical power, but unlimited nuclear energy for free would be amazing.

Jesus! The worst I ever had was in 9th grade biology I accidentally broke a couple test tubes. At least if he does lose, there will hopefully be a riot squad waiting at the capital in case his threat comes true. It's what I'd do just in case he loses. In fact, it'd be the first thing I do! At the very least, if they don't come immediately within the first week after the election, just have them on standby just in case they eventually show up, ready to perform treason.

Why is there a surge of deodorant products mostly advertised to women in the US?

So I have balls and yeah they're the first thing on my body to start to smell. I can skip a shower if I'm in a hurry and I don't smell much. That's with working a job that's usually physical. The biggest thing keeping me from switching away from Gboard are things like the Japanese and Chinese IMEs. I have yet to find an open source keyboard with both of those, while also allowing me to switch to English.

Edit:

Clicked on the article. Clicked on the Trime and Fcxit5 and plugins links. It might be suitable in the future. Hoping this isn't a situation where I finally find a solution and then the devs suddenly disappear without a trace.
