    Much warmer last night and a few more came out to play. Finally, my first muppet-coloured ELEPHANT HAWK-MOTH and a delicate (if slightly battered) SWALLOW-TAILED of 2024 ... and just for good measure, a SPECTACLE with the biggest mohican you've ever seen on a moth hilariously clearing for take-off...

    Overhead shot of a large, delicate, flat tissue paper moth in very pale lemon. It looks very delicate. It has a furry head with a bald patch where it is ageing. The forewings are triangular with the apex meeting at the head, so one side of the triangle appears like a top wing edge. The forewings are shorter than the hindwings, so the hindwings poke out very visibly beneath. Each have a point with two black dots so that it resembles a bird face but the effect is to create a very, very, shallow fork of the wing like a swallow's tail. The forewings have two orange brown stripes stretching from one side of the triangular wing to the other, but because the apex is at the head, the stripes look vertical. In between each stripe is a very short stripe of the same colour, barely a third of the length.
    Face on shot of a spectacle moth on an egg box hump. Its wings behind are fuzzy as they flap ready for take-off. It has a distinct light brown marking on its darker forehead that resemble a pair of spectacles, above which, centrally is a ginger brown mohican that sticks up. Two antennae stretch horizontally a bit like a wiry moustache. Overall a quirky appearance.

    That's great, thank you Richard! I just try to think what a glance at the image would show a sighted person and try to briefly put it into words. Many people will only share image posts with and I think that @FediTips probably has a good link to help with this.
    Have a great evening!

    A common scene this time of year along the trail at #TerryTrueBlood Recreation Area.

    In fact, I believe this is my third year in a row for catching a photo of a dickcissel singing its heart out atop a color-coordinated mullein inflorescence.

    @AaronDavid Here you go:

    A two-panel meme featuring characters from “Star Trek: The Next Generation.”

    In the first panel, Commander Riker is looking at Counselor Troi and says, “I’d like to have kids one day.”

    In the second panel, Counselor Troi responds with a serious expression, saying, “Maybe two days, but that’s it.”

    Both characters are seated at a table in their Starfleet uniforms, with Riker in a red uniform and Troi in a teal one. The background shows the interior of the starship. The text on the images is placed in speech bubbles, and there is a watermark on each panel that reads “Riker’s Beard.”

    @AaronDavid Here you go:

    A screenshot of a social media post featuring a tweet and a reply, along with a photo of a restaurant sign.

    The original tweet by “yves adele fartlow” (@vogon) reads: “we finally have a worthy successor to all of those places that used to be called A Plumber, AA Plumber, AAA Plumber so they showed up first in the yellow pages.”

    The reply by “Alicia Tatone” (@AliciaTatone) reads: “Big brain business name” followed by a brain emoji.

    Below the tweets, there is a photo of a restaurant sign that reads: “THAI FOOD near me.” The sign is attached to a building with a brick facade and has a yellow font with a small icon on the left side resembling a bowl of food. The background shows windows and a fire escape.

    @AaronDavid Here you go:

    A screenshot of a humorous social media exchange. The conversation unfolds as follows:

    The first user comments, “giving birth isn’t as painful as being kicked on the nuts.”

    Another user replies, “have you had a baby?”

    The first user responds, “no but over the years women say ‘lets have another one’ i never hear a man saying ‘come on hit me on the nuts again.’”

    The conversation is accompanied by profile pictures and usernames, but these have been blurred out for privacy.

    A four-panel comic strip from “Infinipop Comics.”

    In the first panel, a firefighter kicks open a door in a burning building, saying, “Fear not, lady! I’ll save you!”

    In the second panel, an elderly woman looks relieved and says, “Just like a Jedi Knight from Star Trek.”

    In the third panel, the firefighter stands expressionless in the doorway.

    In the fourth panel, the firefighter reports to another officer, saying, “Yeah, she was already dead when I found her.”

    In the bottom right corner, there are three logos: YouTube, Instagram, and Twitter, along with the text “Infinipop Comics.”

    @AaronDavid Here you go:

    This cartoon consists of two panels:

    In the top panel, a character resembling God, depicted as an elderly man with a white beard and hair, is holding a box. He looks thoughtful and says, “Hmm… What should I do with these spare parts?”

    In the bottom panel, there is a platypus, a creature known for its unusual combination of features like a duck bill, beaver tail, and otter feet. The implication is that God used the “spare parts” to create the platypus.

    In the first panel, a person in an orange shirt texts: “What’s the difference between toilet paper and a curtain?”

    In the second panel, a person with long hair responds with a text: “I don’t know lol.”

    In the third panel, the person in the orange shirt replies: “So it was you…”

    Germany’s AfD is so extreme it was kicked out of the far-right grouping in the European Parliament last month, but Elon Musk thinks their policies “don’t sound extremist.” That’s because he’s also a fascist.

    I logged in and replied...
    Nobody reads my stuff over there, I'm almost invisible, but I had to reply

    Every day, as a foreigner here, in Germany I am shocked to see how a country drifts into extremes and, unfortunately, this is often not even meant in a bad way by many.

    But then they become tools of real fascists and don't realize how they are being manipulated
    It is so sad.....

    #AltTExt Second answer to Mr. Musk Slipping into the extreme is a big mistake History has one good thing and if you know it, i will not wait, like many of my ancestors i will not lower my head and drift into stupid justifications and march along If you recognize the danger to the freedom of all of us, then fight it photo from perikles with a quote Freedom is the sure possession of those alone who have the courage to defend it photo not mine

    Cherry on top … not only did we have the excitement of seeing our first American Oystercatcher chick but we also had the fun of watching one of the parents fly away and bring back its breakfast. Though we believe it was still hungry from the way it stared at the sand after finishing the proffered morsel. Collage details in .

    This is a four panel comic by @jensorensen

    The image description that I came up with was too long for the text that's allowed on my server.

    So I've attached the image and included the description in the alt text (which has a greater character limit)
