After the whole #recall shebang, I decided to finally leave #Windows for good. So I'm currently checking out #LinuxMint - and I am very much in love.
Biggest fear: Whether #Gaming was possible for a noob. Until I installed the #steam client and found out that basically all my current obsessions run on #Linux - including #BaldursGate3. ❤️
As utter noob willing to learn, I suspect the #fediverse is one of the best places to be.
Boosts, tips, and cool peeps to follow are very much appreciated.
I'm not a "Linux Guy" really but I started re-evaluating it lately, and I think it might not just be for the Tech Weirdos anymore. It can absolutely be a daily driver for a lot of game developers now!
I'm Nate, a 28yo 🇧🇷 transgender man, very autistic and going also through a lot of stuff, but I believe sonic the hedgehog will heal me fr
oh, yeah, I post a lot of my daily thoughts, I might look like a silly little lad however I'm into front-end webdev, and yeah, I love the silly computers a lot :neocat_cool: I'm still looking for a job btw :neocat_cry:
the tags below are just related to things I'll mostly follow here :neocat_flop: so...
#Academia appears clearly divided on use of #AI. One camp sees the huge potential for #research, ideation, exposure to different perspectives, id of research gaps and critical thinking. The other seems to think it should be ignored and traditional research and writing prevail. Which camp are you? @academicchatter
I'm still kinda new to Linux (started using this year 😅) I already made it to my main OS, even if I still missing some things which I used on Windows, anyway. What I wanted to ask you guys, what recommendations do you have for Linux Mint (Cinnamon)? In terms of security, optimization, (a way to make the UI looking modern ;-;) and privacy? I would be very interested in what you do guys to optimize your Linux setup :) I'm pretty technical, so there is nothing which could overwhelm me (probaly).
