After the whole shebang, I decided to finally leave for good. So I'm currently checking out - and I am very much in love.

Biggest fear: Whether was possible for a noob. Until I installed the client and found out that basically all my current obsessions run on - including . ❤️

As utter noob willing to learn, I suspect the is one of the best places to be.

Boosts, tips, and cool peeps to follow are very much appreciated.

I'm not a "Linux Guy" really but I started re-evaluating it lately, and I think it might not just be for the Tech Weirdos anymore. It can absolutely be a daily driver for a lot of game developers now!

Anyone on #LinuxMint know if @linuxmint was affected? Browsed the forum but haven’t seen any announcements.

#Academia appears clearly divided on use of #AI. One camp sees the huge potential for #research, ideation, exposure to different perspectives, id of research gaps and critical thinking. The other seems to think it should be ignored and traditional research and writing prevail. Which camp are you? @academicchatter

Like someone else said, I use it for editing my writing...Grammar, spelling, etc.

I also use it to walk me through things that need to be done in a mac or Linux terminal, or troubleshooting tiny bits of code.

Like I recently had to install #golang on a #LinuxMint machine to install a library.

    I don't see things like #ChatGPT , #Gemini , #Copilot , #Claude as some amazing life companions though.

I prefer first hand sources for writing and research.

Oh for fuck's sake… I'm trying to take a screenshot of a website in Firefox with dropdown menus on the website (NOT the browser UI!) open.

Firefox's screenshot tool doesn't work, because right-clicking to take one closes the menu.

My OS's (Linux Mint) screenshot tools doesn't work, because pressing Print closes the menu.

    What do I do?

Gentle reminder to everyone that support for #windows10 ends in about 90 weeks. Many computers can't upgrade to Win 11 so here are your options:

    1. Continue on Win 10 but with higher security risks.
    2. Buy new and expensive hardware that supports Win11.
    3. Try a beginner friendly #Linux distro like #linuxmint. It only takes about two months to acclimate.

    Hey 👋 dear Linux Community,

I'm still kinda new to Linux (started using this year 😅) I already made it to my main OS, even if I still missing some things which I used on Windows, anyway. What I wanted to ask you guys, what recommendations do you have for Linux Mint (Cinnamon)? In terms of security, optimization, (a way to make the UI looking modern ;-;) and privacy? I would be very interested in what you do guys to optimize your Linux setup :) I'm pretty technical, so there is nothing which could overwhelm me (probaly).

    Thx! 🤍
