    Ya know...I didn't think about it until now, but it's kinda wild that the BlueSky bridge was REQUIRED to be "opt-in" by a massive amount of Fedi which just runs like a normal instance runs.

    However, we currently have the Momostr.pink relay that bridges to Nostr with no such "opt-in" ridiculousness and Nostr doesn't even have "deletes" at all. You post something, it's there. No going back.

    I guess the....6 instances that block it felt the same as the folks that hated on the BlueSky bridge but they decided to use the actual tool they were allotted in every such case, the BLOCK button....

    So, why is a Nostr, no delete, opt out bridge, more admissible than a BlueSky, normal deletes, opt out bridge?🤨

    I am now more confused than ever about the mindsets of people here.

    I genuinely want to know if there's a reason one should be allowed and not the other, if there is one...😬

    @stux Serious question since #Threads is potentially looking into this: if they integrated into AP the ability to run ads on servers as a way to generate money to maintain said server, would you enable them? And based on your experience with other admins, do you think they would?

    Background: Meta is thinking of ways to monetize the Fediverse by supporting servers running ads and supporting micro-transactions (this is speculation as of now, re: what’s Meta’s interest in the Fediverse?)

    People here hate algorithms and I get it. I don't get any engagement on platforms that have them.

    However, if I don't tag something with enough relevant tags here, I get the same experience and I have 800+ followers, and if I tag TOO many things, someone bitches at me to stop doing that.

    There HAS to be a better way to do this...

    And I might not get engagement on this because I just don't know what to tag it now, in fear of offending someone with my tags...😩🤦‍♂️

    @AAKL @BeAware @Mashable To expand a little, if I were a new #Threads I wouldn’t even think about looking at the “for you” for the first 1 month of constant use. I do the same with streaming services, why? The algorithm doesn’t “know me” so its suggestions are trash. The fact that people act like this is new boggles my mind, it’s like they’ve never used any other service with an algorithm. :blobshrug:

    @chnynf Honestly, from what I’ve seen, no Threads profile can see or interact with comments made on the posts. @BeAware has a Threads account and has been intently following Threads integration to AP. I’ll defer to him on all things Threads.
