    The reasons for this are multifaceted and not fully clear. It is worth reviewing these officials words, which go far beyond affection for Israel or interest in protecting it. In the interest of brevity, I'll include only people in top positions: * In 2015 former CIA head turned Trump Secretary of State Mike Pompeo proclaimed, "We will continue to fight these battles. It is a never-ending struggle... until the Rapture". Pompeo, who became very rich through the Israeli lobby, had a series of meetings with the head of Mossad after leaving office. He is one of several Trump administration officials to wax rhapsodic about the end times while meeting with Israeli intelligence officials. * Mike Johnson, the new Speaker of the House, proclaimed that his 2020 visit to Jerusalem's Temple Mount was "the fulfillment of a biblical prophecy." Johnson is one of many Republicans in Congress working with Israeli Kahanists who want to destroy Al Aqsa Mosque, build the Third Temple, and usher in the end times. Jim Jordan, who nearly became Speaker. has met with the Kahanists more than ...
    * In 2007, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer told the New Yorker that God had selected him for the US Senate in order to be the guardian of Israel. * In December 2018, I became worried that the Capitol would be attacked. This was not due to Trump, but due to Nancy Pelosi stating to megadonor Haim Saban - who defines himself as a one-issue donor, with the issue being Israel - that "If the Capitol crumbled to the ground, the one thing that would remain would be our commitment to our aid, I don't even call it our aid, our cooperation with Israel." Pelosi has never explained why she was discussing the Capitol crumbling at all, much less why, if it did, her priority would be a foreign state instead of the US. Pelosi has also confessed to appointing people to committees based on their "Israeliness" (her word, not mine).
    * Hakeem Jeffries, the House Minority Leader, responded to the Israeli military's slaughter of Palestinian children in 2014 by giving a speech proclaiming "Israel today, Israel tomorrow, Israel forever". Jeffries was affirmatively paraphrasing segregationist George Wallace's cry of "segregation now, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever." * Donald Trump, a lifelong friend of Netanyahu whose son-in-law, Jared Kushner, is even closer to the Netanyahu family, has made enough incendiary comments to form a separate book, from threatening Jewish Americans by saying that "US Jews have to get their act together and appreciate what they have in Israel before it is too late" to proclaiming himself "The King of Israel" and "the second coming of God", to, well, this sort of conversation. An excerpt from They Knew: In 2018, Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman, the two criminal operatives who, with Rudy Giuliani, abetted Trump in his attempted shake- down of the president of Ukraine, informed Donald Trump that he was the messiah. Their conversation was taped without Trump's knowledge, and while Trump's threat to "take out" the US ambas- sador to Ukraine attracted the most attention and led to his first impeachment, the religious rhetoric is also notable.

    Peter Beaumont reports on the men who have Netanyahu's ear: national security minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and finance minister Bezalel Smotrich.

    Ben-Gvir is invoking God to justify Israel's attack on the Palestinians, as in God is on our side.

    Smotrich calls himself a "proud homophobe" and wants Torah law established in Israel's judicial system.

    If there is little to no other vision from liberals than “Trump bad!”, “Trump stinks!”, and other stupid, monosyllabic smear slogans, then people tend to pick poison for their pain.

    The Republican chief deputy whip and five other far-right members of Congress put forward a bill to rename Washington Dulles International Airport for the guy under 88 counts of indictment. It won’t get a vote in the Democratic Senate and President Biden must be rolling his eyes at the idea of signing it. Book 📖: https://static.macmillan.com/static/fib/sarah-kendzior/

    "A conspiracy theory, when rooted in a sincere desire to find and expose the truth, is a refusal to move on from betrayal. Conspiracy theories are expressions of grief and memory. This type of evidence-gathering is not solely the domain of conspiracy theorists. It is what historians, detectives, and human rights activists do. It is what investigative journalists and state officials are supposed to do, but frequently do not, because the professional incentive is to remain compliant in order to receive access to the conspirators or maximize a personal payout. The conspiracy theory label is slapped on both hostile actors who seek to deceive and honest actors who seek to enlighten, with the commonality being that they all tread uneasy ground, the kind of ground that, when split, opens the door to hell." Kendzior, Sarah. They Knew: How a Culture of Conspiracy Keeps America Complacent (p. 31). Flatiron Books.
    "People are understandably afraid to hear the worst about the people and organizations whose job it is to protect them. This embrace of denial has accelerated despite (or perhaps because of) ample evidence of elite criminality available in the public domain. Trump and his cohorts’ long-standing dealings with the mafia and the Kremlin—a saga exhaustively documented over multiple decades—is often labeled a conspiracy theory by those terrified by the national security ramifications of it being real. Centuries of state abuse of Black and Native Americans—the torching of Tulsa’s Black Wall Street in 1921; the 1985 MOVE bombings of Black citizens, including children, in Philadelphia; the ongoing unearthing of mass graves of Native Americans—were dismissed as conspiracy theories until people from those communities gained the structural power to publicize them and found an audience willing to listen. It is notable that as knowledge of these atrocities increases among white Americans, other white Americans seek to ban this history from being taught in schools." Kendzior, Sarah. They Knew: How a Culture of Conspiracy Keeps America Complacent (p. 32). Flatiron Books.

    "The responsibility falls on the press to ask Trump and the campaign at every turn, until we get an answer, how the bond was obtained. If Trump did it with his own assets, he should be more than willing to bolster his financial reputation by saying so. If he’s unwilling to share details, that should raise red flags."

    Advice heeded.

    Going forward, if you aren’t already using these mitigations together as protective layers, please do so:

    𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫: Disposable N95s 😷 or better for indoors & outdoors among the public. Additionally, cold nasal sprays (ex. Betadine Cold Defense), & mouthwashes with cetylpyridinium chloride (CPC).

    𝟐𝐧𝐝 𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫: filter & clean indoor air for each room (build Corsi Rosenthal boxes or buy Dyson air purifiers or another brand).

    @mastobit@awscommunity.social avatar

    @kcfromaustcrime @bookstodon

    Take with you or have a portable HEPA air filter in your workplace office.

    Buy an Aranet4 air monitor to test CO2 levels at home and abroad.

    𝟑𝐫𝐝 𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫: Buy Cue Health or Metrix & test with it. Do this even when you don’t feel sick because of the potential of being asymptomatically infected (yes, that is indeed a real feature of SARS2!). If positive, isolate from others until a negative test comes back.

    mastobit ,
    @mastobit@awscommunity.social avatar

    @kcfromaustcrime @bookstodon

    Let visitors & loved ones know ahead of time that you will test outside before they come inside and/or offer them a N95 😷 at the door for the duration of their visit. Trust but verify for health safety. Ask people to go home if they are positive.

    𝟒𝐭𝐡 𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫: SARS2 vaccinations 💉. It’s your last line of effective but waning protection from being hospitalized.

    Hope these help! 🙂✌️
