This is absolutely shameful! New York has suffered so much from COVID, and COVID is not over. We should be normalizing and depoliticizing masks, not banning them.

Saying that covering faces allows protesters to have some level of anonymity to be more aggressive, to me more entitled to say what they want because they don’t fear repercussion in the same way. Would you support that endeavor? Governor Hochul: There was a ban on masks before the pandemic that you couldn't have face coverings that didn't serve a purpose. For example, a surgical mask for someone who is elderly or ill — the pandemic removed that from our State Law. It was repealed at the time, but I absolutely will go back and take a look at this and see whether it can be restored because it is frightening to people. You're sitting on a subway train and someone puts on a mask like this and comes in — you don't know if they're going to be committing a crime, they're going to have a gun, or whether they're just going to be threatening or intimidating you because you are Jewish, which is exactly what happened the other day. Absolutely unacceptable in the State of New York.

    I've had a few myself. When I was 8 or 9, I was in Times Square with my sister, my tiny grandma and her friend, a tiny nun. George Burns walked up to us and kissed Sister Lillyette on the lips, then said, "I've always wanted to do that." Those two ladies were so giddy that their feet didn't touch the ground for the rest of the day. 😅

    @loren Me neither. My friend used to do a laminated and cut out double sided print for jewelry. It was lightweight, so good for earrings, and they looked better than they sound. Otherwise, I've got no useful ideas. I'd wear them though.

    @GottaLaff Got it. You do an amazing job of filtering. I value your time & effort as well as Aaron's. It's possible I've been a bit spoiled by it but that's the trouble with being the best.
    I used to subscribe to A's Substack but I don't go there anymore bc Nazis. I really resent how successful they've been at making everyone work harder to share solid info & it'll get before it gets better, which makes your work even more vital.
    However much you feel appreciated here, multiply it x a million.
