Open-source wouldn’t guarantee anything. Non-profit or commercial, someone has to pay for servers and bandwidth. If it’s a free service, either they’ll likely be back where they were with Meta. A paid or self-hosted service is the only way the service can be sustainable.

    In don’t think anyone can tell you from a photo. You need an arborist to look at it.

    You can talk to the neighbor and express your concern. Ideally, have a paper trail in case something does happen.

    You can have an arborist trim any branches hanging over your property without asking the neighbor.

    I would get an estimate from a couple arborists for the trimming what’s over your yard. Then, approach the neighbor and offer to pay that amount towards having the whole thing trimmed—must include trimming the parts over your yard.

    I wouldn’t pay until the work is done.

    If you don’t know the neighbor at all and/or can’t be sure they’re trustworthy, I’d just get the part over your yard done.

    With every picture I see of him I’m more convinced he’s had a stroke and it affected the right side of his body.

    The right eye is slightly less open. The right side of his mouth is slightly slack. He always covers his right hand with his left. My father had a stroke and the hand thing was really obvious.

    I wish the mods would black-list or white-list sources for news. We can argue what should or shouldn’t be allowed but some outlets—like The Daily Mail—are obvious trash. For the vast majority of news there are other, or even multiple other, sources.

    You shouldn’t need him to show at court to divorce him. Your lawyer should know that. If he doesn’t sign the papers you should be able to get the court to proceed by showing that he was notified. Get a new lawyer.

    Sounds like the attack bypasses the VPN entirely. It’s not a worry on your home network if you control the DHCP server. But, on public networks, where you really should always use a VPN, you can’t be sure your traffic is going through the VPN.

    Maybe, you can check a trusted site like the VPN provider’s webpage to see if you’re going through the VPN. But, a really sophisticated attack could potentially route just that traffic through the VPN and everything else outside of it.

    I’ve read that there were tons of short sales at the beginning. The company started getting word to investors to not lend shares to short sellers. This has forced short sellers to buy shares which drives up the price.

    There’s a good chance it’ll tank again. The only thing that could keep it high is if there’s enough meme buyers or, you know, foreign investors that want to give them money for some reason…
