Pc with steam deck for me. Although, my gaming has been 80-90% steam deck lately...

The Hitchhikers trilogy. All 5 books of it. Every interpretation adds a little something to the mix.

Someone else said all of Pratchett, and I'll agree. My Discworld end goal is to own the physical, digital and audio book for each discworld novel.

I'll also add in the Bobiverse books, and project hail mary. While both are excellent in their own right, the audiobooks are really something special.

My dad is way better at car maintenance and handy work. Machines just talk to him.

I'd get excited, but WB will probably choose not to release it for tax credit.

Making a cook character

One if my players wants to make a character that's all about beig a master chef. I was wondering if anyone has suggestions on how to do that. He found a custom cook class online, but it's very convoluted and not beginner (which we all are) friendly. Now we're thinking how we could just take a normal magical class and (quite...

Ohhh, I like food bard. They make snacks for bardic inspiration.

This MAY work, if you toasted the bread super crispy first to give the soup something to soak into.

My mind slipped gears for a second, and I thought "you gave birth to a cat!?"

Protoknuckles ,

He didn't say 20 pounds. He said 20 bags. Could have been any size.

What I love about this Era of video game art is that there isn't even character consistency in this ad! The box art in the bottom right has different looking characters than the characters on the page!

Protoknuckles ,

Fairly accurate, surprisingly

Look man, I hate the 2 party system but dude has brain worms. And acts like it.

Maybe having the powerful magic items in the museum makes them a target, and the place gets attacked, and the players have to save it. As a reward and safeguard against future attacks, the museum researches a way to transfer the enchantment to a similar item? Sword for sword, gloves for gloves.

Can you imagine getting shot, and the news article for it being "no worries, Drake's ok!"

Protoknuckles ,

Killing is one thing. They tortured them for years and allowed them to spread diseases in their community when a cure existed. Truly evil.

If you could take a single character out of a piece of media (book, film, TV show, video game, etc) who would it be?

They would lose any magical powers they may have had in the book, but anything they are, rather than can do, will stay. For example people from the His Dark Materials world would keep their daemons. You can take them out at any time in the story's plot, but for all other people consuming the media, it will be shown that the...

I was thinking Vimes, but I'm not sure I could handle the guilt of taking him from young Sam.

Protoknuckles ,

Is this as exciting as it seems? It seems pretty exciting.

Protoknuckles ,

For me, waiting for the phone to ring was torture, because I could be interrupted at any time. It was draining and stressful. If you're actually able to relax, that's different.

Protoknuckles ,

Hot fuzz. Because the first watch is enjoyable, but every subsequent rewatch makes you appreciate Edgar Wright more and more. He is just the most incredibly meticulous story teller with the most dense movies.

Protoknuckles ,

Hag!

I always thought it was a way to show the foibles of using pure logic in a regular setting.

Protoknuckles ,

I think his point may be he can't cast the magic spells that depend on capitalization, but I could be wrong.

Protoknuckles ,

Good point!

Protoknuckles ,

I mean, temporarily loud. I think that would be OK.

I used to have a beer every few days, now I'll have one every few weeks. They also hit like a truck now. I have no tolerance.

Potato charms: people throughout history have kept and even stolen wrinkly old vegetables for their health ( theconversation.com )

In 1897, one Mr Burgess, the Clerk of Works at Oxford University, donated two shrivelled potatoes to the Pitt Rivers Museum. He usually kept them in his pockets. They were the ultimate “jacket” potatoes....

Protoknuckles ,

Sounds like Mr. Tulip from Terry Pratchett's The Truth. As long as he had his potato, he's ok.

Protoknuckles ,

Yeah, but neither Clone would want to go to the job. Both would want to sleep.

Protoknuckles ,

Point still stands that neither would want to go to work.

Do you all have any tips on activities to do yourself, instead of consuming content all the time?

I'm pretty sick of my content addiction, like watching youtube or netflix all the time. I would rather be spending my time otherwise so figured fun things are the best to start. Do you have tips for fun things to do? Or how I could search for them?...

Protoknuckles ,

Miniature painting, like for DnD and Warhammer is a great skill that starts easy and can ramp up in difficulty as you learn new techniques. It can get expensive however, but is great for relaxing and being creative.

Protoknuckles ,

That'll do it, lol

Protoknuckles ,

To be fair, there's so little common ground with which to discuss between the two parties anymore. We're past economic and policy debates, the Republicans are rallying behind an insurrectionist who doesn't believe in science, can't admit in wrong doing, has raped someone, has colluded or tried to collude with Russia and cares only about enriching himself.
