We need a more comprehensive solution @LukefromDC
The world in general, and Jews in particular, will be safer when the Zionist state no longer exists.
As Miko Peled observed, Israel and Palestine are the same place. He believes that Jews and Arabs can live together peacefully. That may be true, but by all appearances, it's true of probably less than 20% of the population. The remaining 80% would need to be homed elsewhere.
Palestine is sacred to more than Judaism and Islam. Ideally, I'd like to see it established as World Heritage. Protected by the world at large and thus needing no armed forces. I can dream, can't I?
What of the other 80%? Netanyahu advocates a state in Sinai for Palestinians, so let's make that two states. I think of them as sanatoria. Unarmed and heavily guarded, to protect them from each other and the world from them.
I still and will continue to stand with Israel.
I despise #Netanyahu. In my eyes, he’s a criminal.
But Israel is not Netanyahu and they have every right to defend themselves against the Hamas and Hezbollah terrorists.
There are civilian casualties, mostly on the Palestinian side.
That’s where I blame Netanyahu (not Israel!) for being a bad, irresponsible and racist leader.
He should get judged by an international court.
I disagree @thoralf
Israel is a mistake. The world in general, and Jews in particular, will be safer when the Zionist state no longer exists.

Tell that last bit to the Palestinians @thoralf
As you said, two states has proven to be no solution. Those who can live peacefully together should be encouraged to do so - in Palestine. Those who won't live peacefully together are a problem for the world (hence the two sanatorium states - some of the recalcitrant might be cured). Then' of course, there are the criminals. #Israel #Palestine #Gaza #TwoStateSolution #OneStateSolution #ThreeStateSolution
You keep pointing out that we cannot make two states work @thoralf
If you're not saying that two states have proven to be no solution, then you're not saying anything.
Two states being no solution and Miko Peled's one state being no solution for the majority of the population, we need something else. For centuries, Arabs, Christians and Jews shared Palestine. Then the Zionists started arriving. A decent solution will return to the situation before the advent of Zionism in Palestine.
The form of Jewish Zionism that spawned Israel has had more than a century to create the current predicament. Fixing it will take a while.

Thanks @nus
The admin of Babka, @serge and I have met (online, not in person). The term "antisemitism" used to be powerful. Zionists have neutered it. Quite sad, really.
A false story is spreading on Mastodon and other social media, claiming that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz believes, Ukraine cannot join NATO in the next 30 years.
I investigated this, and it is a lie. As anyone can see from this video, Scholz is talking about how Putin used a potential NATO membership as an excuse for attacking Ukraine, and Scholz is saying that AT THE TIME, he did not expect Ukraine to join NATO in the next 30 years.
Scholz argued that “a negotiated solution between #Israel and the #Palestinians that amounts to a two-state solution” with a #PalestinianAuthority responsible for both the #WestBank and the #Gaza Strip is needed instead.
“But we’re still a LONG way off that…”
What is important now is “to achieve a long-term ceasefire” and “for all parties to commit to the #TwoStateSolution,” he said.
The Spanish, Irish & Norwegian govts announced Wed that they would recognize a #Palestinian state, saying there would be no #peace in the #MiddleEast w/o it.
Israel denounced the move as giving aid to its enemy #Hamas.
The coordinated announcements are purely symbolic — but not w/o some power.
The leaders of the 3 countries said they hoped their recognition would press #Israel, the #Palestinians & the international community toward a #TwoStateSolution to the conflict.
“In the midst of a #war, w/tens of thousands killed & injured, we must keep alive the only alternative that offers a political solution for Israelis & Palestinians alike: Two states, living side by side, in #peace & #security,” Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store said.
#Palestine / Hamas Official Offers Truce and Disarmament in Exchange for Palestinian State
A senior #Hamas political official, Khalil al-Hayya, has suggested the group would lay down its weapons and convert into a political party if an independent Palestinian state is established along pre-1967 borders.
The offer includes the formation of a unified government with the rival #Fatah faction and the acceptance of a fully sovereign Palestinian state in Gaza and the West Bank.
Israel has spent 75 years avoiding a #twostatesolution as this would deprive them of the opportunity of stealing more of #palestine until there is nothing left. This is also why Israel has NEVER officially declared its "borders".
The West has supported this disingenuous ploy, but the time has come to confront it. Either a separate State of Palestine is recognised (borders being pre-1967, Jerusalem as capital) or a single, secular, multi-ethnic state replaces both Palestine the Israel colony.
#Palestine will never become an independent nation until an elected government that promotes the #TwoStateSolution is established by the people of Palestine.
"According to a video from the event, Walberg said, “We shouldn’t be spending a dime on humanitarian aid.” As part of the same response, he went on to say, “It should be like Nagasaki and Hiroshima. Get it over quick,” referring to the Japanese cities hit with atomic bombs during World War II."
"The United States has called for a revitalized PA to administer postwar Gaza ahead of eventual statehood.
Israel has rejected that idea, saying it will maintain open-ended security control over Gaza and partner with Palestinians who are not affiliated with the PA or Hamas. It’s unclear who in Gaza would be willing to take on such a role."
Both sides have neglected #negotiation for decades, inciting the #war we have today. Neither #Hamas nor #Netanyahu will be negotiating the #peace but #Israel will take full control and has advantage in #Gaza now that the #tunnels are destroyed.
I'm going to be fair and blunt on the human atrocity committed by both @palestine @israel
They will #negate There will be no faults found by either side because of the #trauma induced on the world though witness of atrocity and brutality in this conflict.
Remember you read this here!
There will be no faults found by either side and the only thing that will remain is the #negotiation for #peace and the #biden vision of a #TwoStateSolution.
Move beyond your hate for both tribes.
