Koko ni mo, koke ga...

You can find moss on the bark of roadside trees, in school yards, under concrete walls and in other familiar places. When you look at it with a loupe up close, it looks like a forest! Various kinds of moss grow in mixtures, each with its own unique and exquisite appearance. Its appearance has hardly changed since 400 million years ago.

Spent the day out at Tidbinbilla south of Canberra today. Such a great spotting day!

Saw my first Lyrebird despite hearing them all my life! And saw my first Bandicoot! So cute and not particularly shy, so managed a video just with my phone (which I don't seem to be able to upload), so here is a still and bonus and

I mentioned walls of moss, but I am tragically unable to choose just one picture worth my delight at this short but intensely mossy path. You can breathe the green just looking at the pictures.

Same as the first image, but taken further along the path

En kyllä arvannut kun aamulla metsään läksin, mitä siellä tarttuisi kameraan.
As I went out this morning, I had no idea what I would be catching on my camera in the woods.

A Green Frog is sitting on the moss covered rock with pinkish blossom petals scattered around it. The frog has a Mosquito sitting on top of it which looks kind of cute!

I guess I’m getting into bryology now. If only I could identify them now. 5 semesters of botany and the moss is “just moss”.

I love the way this tree's roots look as they stretch their way over the mossy rocks and down toward the creek. Gives me a real jungle-y feel, and I really dig that 😁💚
