Just to follow up on that squirrel who looks like he's practicing his plunger moves to blow us up (see previous post), here is one actually eating a lupine flower blossom.

Cascade Golden-mantled Ground Squirrel (Callospermophilus saturatus).

A total of 350 environmental groups came together to pressure the government to act more robustly and decisively against the biodiversity crisis. Charities including the National Trust, the Wildlife Trusts, the RSPB and Friends of the Earth stood side by side with direct action groups such as Just Stop Oil, Extinction Rebellion and Animal Rising.

I'll bet this isn't on the TV news this evening.

Arctic tern joined us for a hike called kjærlighetshaugen (translates to something like “the love pile”) :blobfoxheartcute:

These fierce terns breed around the arctic, and at the end of breeding season migrate all the way to the Antarctic, having the longest migration distance amongst birds.

I love seeing this little insects. Thread-winged Lacewing (Nemoptera bipennis) are like fairies. I saw quite a few of these flying around on our recent overnight trip into the Sierra Nevada.

A tower of giraffes 🦒 for ! Such an apt for the world’s tallest animal, celebrated on the longest day (in the northern hemisphere - or night in the southern). There are estimated to be only 117,000 remaining in the wild so efforts are needed to ensure they survive and thrive in the future.

Well, well, well, my froggy friends coming out in full force just in time for froggy Friday. They normally just like hiding between the plants.

Same frog but this time we see it from behind.
