A Toy Soldiers lichen (Cladonia bellidiflora) growing on the ground at a tree base. The lichen has hollow green-blue podetia that look like upright small stems, and are covered with tiny lobes (leaves) up to the tip. The red fruit bodies (apothecia) on the top of the podetia look like small raspberries. The lichen is surrounded by Haircap moss and other Cladonia lichen varieties.     A large patch of grey-green Ladder lichen (Cladonia verticillata). The lichen grows on the ground among moss and other Cladonia lichens. The lichen podetia look like small upright trumpets growing on upright trumpets. On the edges of the trumpets there are many small brown dots to see, these are apothecia and pycnidia. Both are types of fruiting bodies. White Reindeer lichens in the background.
