two more #photos from last weeks #hiking in the #mountains! the meadow marked the place where I had most of my ascend done and went for the one part of the trail on the mountain that I hadn't walked yet.
And the #lizard you see is an alpine #salamander. It was the second time in my life that I saw one in the wild. Last time I only took quick snap and did regret. This time I took more time for this.
Or possibly, Common Lizards - it's all a question of scale. 😉 Photographed on the boardwalk to one of the hides at Teifi Marshes near Cardigan, Wales, earlier this month.
common chuckwalla (Sauromalus ater), Star Wars Canyon, Death Valley national Park. May 2019. He was pretty big. The desert teams with life if you are patient #lizard#chuckwalla#deathvalley#desert
Here's the print I just printed on Thursday. It is called The Old Lifeboat Station at Lizard. I managed to get 9 good ones.
£5 from every print sold is donated to the RNLI.
I am now getting ready for Winchester Print Fair, wrapping up unframed prints and restocking cards and garlands.
I feel like I'm getting slower and slower at printing. I used to do 12 to 15 prints a year.
Anyway this autumn I will be able to focus on experimenting with natural media and also some abstract prints. I will be doing fewer fairs than usual in the autumn to allow me to do this.
This one was trying to grab every last ray of sun it could from the top of its tree stump, perched within the dappled shade of the surrounding gum trees.
Absolutely glorious sunny day today, perfect for a little walk. My batteries are recharged and my knees are killing me. 😂💚
So many lizards out and about, including this gorgeous brute who didn't give a stuff that I was creeping closer and closer to take his picture, what a poser!
As for the flower, I'm genuinely not sure, my best guess was some kind of mallow or dog rose but neither of those seem quite right. Any guesses?
