Hiya! I'm Cris, 40+, and living in #Alaska. Married with 3 cats, 2 kids, and a dog.
I'm a knitter, gamer, and work-from-home-er. I'm also slowly teaching myself #SwiftUI in my spare time. I live in a fairly remote area so most of my closest friendships these days are long-distance.
When I'm able, I run TTRPGs (anyone looking to start a group? 👀).

@SearingTruth@benroyce@thepoliticalcat you can also follow hashtags, and usefully, block hashtags too. So I can follow #knitting but block those weirdos who #crochet! (Kidding! I dislike crochet but not enough to block y’all!)
I cast on a new project for myself T-shirt even though I "should" have started a gift for a future baby. But if I don't start it for myself, it will be pushed back again !
#tricot#knitting https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/anna-tee
Today's afternoon of work: sock repair while I catch up on some tech talks. I'd say something about the glory of working from home but to be honest I used to do this kind of thing in the office when I needed to watch videos too.
I should start a knitting and tech talks club at the library or something. 😅
Hello. I’m Sarah (she/her). I’ve been several flavors of #librarian, including public service, media specialist for adult students and, currently, electronic resources and archives. I’m a Jill of many skills / expert of few, and here to share information with peers who have complimentary interests and strengths.
"Sanquhar gloves were traditionally knitted in an intricate, black and white pattern and were sold by villagers to subsidise their income in the 18th and 19th centuries.
May said the majority of designs had never been written down.
There are 16 heritage glove patterns and she has already committed 11 of the patterns to paper.
"These things get lost if they're not recorded and you don't want that in a tradition," she said."
Given Myfanwy's birth place in Wales, and my wee folk's home in Scotland, I'm sure it's no surprise to anyone that at the beginning of their journey we find them in the Wild West.

"A 200-year-old sweater in a traditional Faroese knit has been found in a stash of 19th-century letters at The National Archives in our Prize Papers collection. The jumper, handknitted in vibrantly coloured fine wool, was intended for a woman in Denmark, but never reached its destination because the vessel on which it was shipped was seized by the British Navy during the Second Battle of Copen.." https://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/about/news/pristine-sweater-found-in-parcel-posted-in-1807/
Well, time for a new #Introduction since the folks over at mastodon.scot decided that it's anti-semitism to call very obvious Israeli propaganda accounts out for being zionist, and thus nuked my account 🖕 Other than speaking out against fascism I post about #catsofmastodon, #programming, #gamedev, #mosstodon, #knitting, #naturephotography and whatever else catches my eye. Nice to meet y'all!
Walked to the library today and I took the opportunity to finally get a picture of my #ShamrockShawl which I finished over 3 years ago now and just never got around to photographing.
