There needs to be actual content rules. TIL worked best when the mods actually adhered to those content rules. Otherwise you just have people posting all kinds of nonsense. Quality is better than quantity

Not much on today - I was going to tackle the shed today but it’s going to be stonking hot , I may leave it till the end of the week when it’s slightly cooler.

This is true. But doing things like wearing a mask, being supportive of the public health education initiatives was not free for Trump it would have cost him politically. These actions would not win him acclaim with people like me (since to me it's "just doing your damn job") but they would have made him less popular with some of his base.
At first it is hard to believe that most people don't pay much attention to politics. Most people don't know what "project 24" is or the significance of the phrase "obstructing an official procedure" (maybe you are such a person) --but, when I think about how tense, nervous and occasionally helpless political news makes me feel I totally get it. Also, a lot of this stuff is boring and kind of technical.
@futurebird what would it look like to see this energy released? I dont know what I'm looking for. I get 30 emails a day from Democrats as it is and lots of it refers to project 2025. Since I'm not in a swing state, it's all fundraiser email.

Putting house spiders outside is often doom for them. I ask people to give them to me instead since my ants love spiders. (and the spiders love ants... it's a circle of life I guess)
But really if a house spider isn't in the way just leave it there. It would not be there if there were not things it was eating. If you remove it you may meet "the food" instead.
It's similar to hibernation. Ever wonder where ants go in winter? They are inside of their colonies either deep underground or inside of a tree stump. They can't produce heat like mammals so they grow cool like the ambient temperature around them. This causes their metabolism to slow and they fall into a kind of suspended animation. They still move a little and may wake up and drink water or groom, but they are mostly motionless for months when it's cold.
Do any of you have an ambient music making app on your phone that you enjoy? I'm thinking something like a simple synthesizer simulator that lets you make ethereal soundscapes to relax to or to save to use as background music?
I have a vague memory of an app like this years ago...
I'm a long time "Headspace" user. Mostly for "soundscapes" -- 45 minutes or 8 hours of nature sounds. They do also have relaxing music options and guided meditation options, and others.

Unlike Gaza which is a massacre, Israel-Lebanon will be MAD (mutually assured destruction). Y'all, my brother and his boyfriend were staying at this Dairy B&B, and the barn cat had kittens. This one kitten kept wanting to be petted and held, and the owner said they could take it if they wanted it. I can barely handle this much cuteness!
