Yes. Our history is one of theft of land and wealth, people's lives and futures. Usually at the cost to people without land or wealth. The people at the "top" white. Poor whites and people of color used by the "top". The beat goes on. The so called "top" fears a reversal. Used to being entrenched and feeling entitled.
My California County has a white population that is 40% of the total, and dropping. Next Hispanic, then Black, then Asian. It's fine, you weirdos. We're having a great time. #Diversity
White people treat everyone that badly. The projection is what terrifies.
I can't tell you how many times I've heard from white men (as the limits of my environment dictated, I engaged), "That's just how men are." The shaming plus the feed plus the commiseration perpetuates the belief that drives the same action. They have no idea they're creating a violent reality. And yes, the women who support them, let them.

@Strandjunker My impression is that the wealthy fear a change of regime giving the not rich the power to change the rules of wealth distribution in favor of themselves. Working class people fear that the end of white privilege will make it harder for them and their spawn to keep a lock on the shrinking pool of decent jobs.
@Strandjunker Yup. They are afraid of chains. They are afraid of whippings. They are afraid of working sun up to sun down on shitty food and being barely clothed. They are afraid to be murdered because of the color of their skin. But, that's okay. The climate catastrophe coming will stop all that from happening. Yes, I'm a jerk.
@Strandjunker I don’t care, and I’ve never given it any thought. I’ve known about white Americans becoming a minority but there are many many other issues that are more important, like our democracy
