@rbreich
You say, "When I say trickle-down economics is a hoax, this is what I mean."
The Democratic Party & Republican Party are also a hoax.
Trickle-Down Economics, Weaponized Law & Order of Democratic/Republican Party Fascist Duopoly/US Fascist Ruling Class, implemented by US Fascist Ruling Class against Working Class. US Fascist Ruling Class uses Weaponized Law & Order to deny Working Class Labor a SEAT AT THE TABLE, a legitimate Working Class Political Party.
@rbreich I love how the TikTok issue is so important the Dems only got on board the ban bus because of the Pro-Palestine/anti-genocide vids and Trump came out against the ban as soon as he heard Biden said he'd sign it if it passed. 🙄
> True, America’s billionaires aren’t in a global race with the United States for world dominance. But they’re in a race with the rest of America to dominate the United States — a race which should be of no less concern. The lure of unfathomed wealth can be as corrosive to the common good as a competing nation’s determination to beat us.
The ability to restrain speech and peddle ideas is more problematic, particularly when China is trying to overcome the militaries of the world.
@rbreich Look at the Twitter takeover by Musk. Haters got banned, as did those engaged in COVID-19 disinformation. Now, with X, haters, misinformation, and chances of being banned for disagreements with haters, MAGA, and the Anti-vaccine nut jobs(*). (Lost spouses to COVID-19 after not being vaccinated)
@rbreich
Gosh, no idea. I had to ask AI, right? Here's the answer.

Trust Dilemma:
So, who do you trust more? The Chinese roots of TikTok or the American billionaires vying for ownership?
It’s a dance-off between data security, geopolitical tensions, and corporate interests. 🕺💃
In this tech tango, the spotlight’s on TikTok, and the music keeps playing. 🎶📱🌎

“We need to have a totally different conversation about TikTok — as well the other giant platforms now scraping up our personal data & feeding us dangerous lies…
The real issue here isn’t whether China or some American billionaire should own these platforms. It’s how to make them publicly responsible, regardless of who owns them.”

@rbreich I don't need the tiktok as I don't use it. Most of my "social media" interactions, like 95%, happens via Mastodon.
I don't trust nor CCP neither billionaires.
@rbreich I'd be OK with a TikTok ban. My attention span was already flagging before this "ten second video" thing took off. YouTube Shorts and Meta Reels can go away, too.
