Via Andrew Weissmann:

My guess: may have someone like co-signing Chubb bond, so the bank is comfortable being on the hook for the judgment. Same could happen for the bond for AG $450M judgment. & this strategy wd allow co-signor to say truthfully that they did not give or loan Trump any $

Joyce Vance:

This=important pt. Trump is beholden to someone & we don't know who. Reporters shd ask him to explain all of the details. GOP leaders shd, but probably won't be esp concerned.

If so these things have a habit of coming unstuck - as happened with the scheme involving loans from millionaires which would be cancelled after a 'decent interval' !

SteveJB ,

@GottaLaff So, if a soldier in the US Armed Services is in debt by several thousand dollars, they can be summarily discharged because they present a security risk, but the Commander in Chief can be in debt to a sworn enemy of the republic for millions with no consequences? That's today's GOP!

@GottaLaff
E Jean doesn't have to accept the bond without knowing the details of how it's guaranteed...same goes for NY except X7.

@GottaLaff
If he can get Musk and a shadow sponsor to cover the $450m bond, then you can kiss national security good-bye if he were to reattain the oval office.

@GottaLaff I can’t take this country or its admin seriously. It’s all corrupt & all buffoonery. We’re just beholden to Putin now! Is anyone involved planning on doing anything about this, or are we just gonna let this go on until it’s normal. 🤦‍♀️🤮

GottaLaff OP ,
@GottaLaff@mastodon.social avatar

@DEDGirl The US is not “all buffoonery,” nor is the admin.

    The two previous elections, the Russians did a better job of hiding their support for trump. This time, they seem to be flaunting that help.

    @GottaLaff@mastodon.social avatar

    @dougfir Oh I don’t think they hid it too well. We knew they were doing it.

    @GottaLaff If Musk co-signed then there are strings attached. When I heard about the two talking about money, I imagined Musk asking to be VP. It's not as crazy as it might sound.

    @GottaLaff Flashbacks to how a Russian oligarch paid him almost $100 million for a $50 million house right around the time Trump started with the birtherism BS that discredited and weakened our democracy.

    @GottaLaff as a presidential candidates, are large cash gifts or other items of value considered campaign contributions?

    @GottaLaff . . . or concerned at all. Best to look the other way. Being Putin's Poodle has served him well thus far. Try that name on for size Mr. Former President.
