Our #fascist party's chairman and minister of finance tweeted that the #terrorist stabber was immigrant gang member again. She lied only to spread #racism and hate. It's all the party is about. And our previously moderate #rightwing party is ok with this and that we have literal #nazis in our government.

@GottaLaff@onepict have to say here in Germany it doesn't seem to have helped that much against the AFD. The party leadership said it was actually good publicity. I don't know what the answer is though, maybe personal conversations. Maybe EU elections don't count as much but I'm scared.
In the UK getting 5 percent of the vote matters because a candidate party gets their deposit back. I don't know if it's the same in the EU.
But the more of us who can vote should vote. It's why I love the fact the French left are trying an alliance. I don't know how long it will last, but there's an attempt at providing an alternative and to signal to the centrists, perhaps they want to shift to the left a bit.

What worked in the 1960s gave us heroes to look up to, but it took a landslide victory for LBJ and bipartisan support in Congress to actually change the law.
The Gaza protests have energized militarized police forces and been turned into a problem for Biden.
Ultimately, I think we have to trust the DNC/DSCC/DCSC, our advocates who are mostly winning in the courts, and the voters to do the right things to give us the closest thing to a Biden/Harris landslide and a Democratic House and Senate we can get.

@GottaLaff What specific demands do you have that people would be willing to march for against a militarized police force? It was clear in the 60s and 70s - voting rights, and end to segregation, an end to the Vietnam war. And the police back then didn't have the armaments they do now.
But the 1968 protests in part cost Hubert Humphrey the presidency. I think Biden can survive the Gaza protests if he, Blinken and our allies in the Middle East can get a cease fire and massive relief for the people of Gaza. The GOP is hoping Netanyahu makes that impossible.
Ultimately people have to make their own decisions on when and why to protest. I trust the party leadership and our legal advocates. And I remember 1968 and Kent State. I was in graduate school then.

Yes we do! But we are so large and spread out. Lots of demonstrations in DC are necessary. Actually all the large cities. The Womans March energy is necessary. Women, it may be up to us again. I really hope the far-right will be defeated but there's a lot of moral confusion in our minds about what the rule of law is or should be, about the rights of the unemployed, about antisemitism, about peace and war, etc. Ignorance is thriving and it's getting suffocating.
