The bumblebees adore this plant so I think we must have a colony of bumblebees in our courtyard— so many have gathered. They are so frisky and active— wrestling with each blossom— I do wonder if they make things more difficult for themselves with all the hymenopteran fussing.
@futurebird In the garden I take care of, I let things go a little wild. Here is a carrot flowering, which ants adore. You can even see some on the pic, despite the low resolution of my cheap smartphone camera.
@futurebird oh oakleaf hydrangea! Those are great, near native (their naural range ends a little south of NY but with shifting climate that's changing) and a great choice for a showy flowering plant vs H. macrophylla.
