"I refuse to think strategically and to act tactically.
I will ignore every fact before my very eyes, I don't like reality, I will wholeheartedly support this fascist government, instead of merely voting for it tactically, because I can't stand the pain it causes me. me. me. me.
I will support this fascist government and I will gladly be a fascist piece of shit"
@philip_cardella no you're not. you're voting against fascism at home.
there is one thing i will say about trump, he is cheap. i reckon he would cut spending to israel. it’d be easy. half the work has been done for him, given that the military support has been marketed as ‘aid.’
But I’m so sick of the partisan shills online who keep attacking any of Biden’s critics and attempting to paint him as the greatest president since FDR. We can urge everyone to vote for the lesser evil without condoning the evil.
@philip_cardella
I never called Biden a fascist. There's an encyclopedia of alternate insults that accurately depict everything wrong with the guy and the corporate wing of his party.
@philip_cardella
And with these comments you've confirmed yourself as a member of the partisan shill crowd. Biden's half century track record is that of a closet Republican in Democratic attire. He's been on the wrong side of history on every issue of importance I can imagine, including the War on Drugs, both Iraq Wars, Social Security, Medicare, minimum wage, healthcare, banking regulation, etc.
the problem is the toxic perfectionists who think voting is a love letter rather than simple strategy, that russian troll farm and right agent provocateurs can work on to not vote, and to help get trump elected
i would say in fact that most of the criticism is this insincere kind
@philip_cardella Tell it to Biden. If he doesn't stop supporting Israel, he's liable to screw this up for all of us. Did you see this latest resignation letter?
@philip_cardella Biden isn't a fascist but he maintains his own wealth and the status quo. Just like the people I love are good people but their opinions and votes further right wing and capitalist power.
@philip_cardella We absolutely should never vote Republican. That said, it's a problem when the only alternative thinks it's okay to give student loans the highest interest rates in the past decade. And refuses to draw a hard line with Israel. And refers to his fascist colleagues in favorable terms. And spoke highly of known segregationist, Strom Thurmond.
We can't vote Republican, but we can damn certain demand better from Democrats.
@Crimfresh@philip_cardella Yes, there are many changes we can make within normal politics. That’s why I support running more progressive candidates in safe seats, ranked choice voting, the Interstate Compact, universal mail in ballots, making voting day a national holiday, making voter registration at 18 automatic, redrawn maps that end gerrymandering, expanding SCOTUS and adding term limits, etc.
I don’t expect that within one election, but that’s the goal.
Bernie vs Warren was gonna be a great choice to have and then…well. That’s why I always vote, so that I have an impact upon elections and don’t just cede the choice to centrists. I WANT the Democrats to move left, but if I check out, that doesn’t happen.
@philip_cardella Neither candidate deserves any votes, and too many of us are tired of choosing the lesser evil. At the end of the day, the highest court is your own conscience. A lot of ppl will regret voting for either one.
@faerfyr@philip_cardella One of them will be POTUS. There's no getting around that. A refusal to vote is a vote for the eventual winner. It doesn't remove you from the process. You're still a participant whether you like it or not
@philip_cardella I had a MAGA guy in my neighborhood post a sign with an actual crime threat in his yard about a year ago. A police officer talking to him actually worked to get him to remove it although I called my state representative first because he has lots of better ideas than I do. I’m lucky to have a great person in that job.
It was probably still his right but it definitely caused distress to people passing it. I don’t walk anywhere near his house now. Let’s just say that.
@TonyStark you are right! but if you saw say free palestine you can lose your job! at least china’s social credit system has a visual metric of acceptable opinion. @philip_cardella
