Turns out, a thing I really enjoyed about video stores was the way they only bothered to put a title in one section.

I didn't know it at the time, but having the same handful of Batman films suggested to me no matter what genre I chose was going to get tedious.

Like how long have we been doing streaming services? 50 years? 100 years? And there's still not one I can open up and say, "movie with spaceships and no swords, please."

Instead we get sci-fi, romance, fantasy, mystery all = Batman.

Might make a few enemies with this, but I think you could drop a lot of Smashing Pumpkins lyrics right into the middle of a Lungfish song and nobody would know the difference.

I'm listening to Melon Collie and the Infinite Sadness for the first time through in a lot of years, and I'm really struck by how similar Billy Corgan's writing style and some of his themes are to Daniel Higgs. Just less "Look at me, I'm a mystic," and more "Look at me, I'm a pop star."

@alice i didnt vote. i dont think keeping people away from the fact that detransition exists is necessary, but it is incredibly rare compared to other regrets about treatment- most stories about it exist / are deliberately done in a way to scare people and misinform them.

detransition stories should be honest, point out that its quite rare and they should be a LOT more honest that a bunch of these people detransitioned not because they werent trans but because they were abused and tired of the abuse.

some even transition again later when they are in a better situation.

people should tell the story- but the whole story.

also i have no problem with this poll because it could be useful to see where fedi people are on this, but the facts certainly arent up for a vote.

i very well may be autistic. so many of my experiences line up with it but those things are ALSO present in OCD which I am diagnosed for. But also these two things often occur together so ????? I talked to a lot of autistic people about it tonight who have known me for a very long time.
