Turns out, a thing I really enjoyed about video stores was the way they only bothered to put a title in one section.

I didn't know it at the time, but having the same handful of Batman films suggested to me no matter what genre I chose was going to get tedious.

Like how long have we been doing streaming services? 50 years? 100 years? And there's still not one I can open up and say, "movie with spaceships and no swords, please."

Instead we get sci-fi, romance, fantasy, mystery all = Batman.

Might make a few enemies with this, but I think you could drop a lot of Smashing Pumpkins lyrics right into the middle of a Lungfish song and nobody would know the difference.

I'm listening to Melon Collie and the Infinite Sadness for the first time through in a lot of years, and I'm really struck by how similar Billy Corgan's writing style and some of his themes are to Daniel Higgs. Just less "Look at me, I'm a mystic," and more "Look at me, I'm a pop star."

    @alice i spent years becoming immune to this. mcds helped by getting shittier and shittier.

    dont get me wrong, if you wave that in front of my face every day im going to want to eat it. but a craving for mcds that only happens once or twice a year and i actually eat there less- id call that an immunity. their stuff just isnt as good as it was 25 years ago.

    @alice a lot of stuff from def leppard has aged really well. they have a new generation of fans because of the internet which theyre pretty cool about, and their sound is just- really good.

    "hysteria" in particular, i mean the song, would sound amazing if it was released today imo. pour some sugar on me is good but ive always found it harder to take seriously because i cant help taking it literally.
