Second Reality by Future Crew, 1993. The best fucking demo ever, hands down.

We don't actually want it back, thanks. A very poor zone without our expected infrastructure, and no Finnish people. It would just be friggin' expensive and it's not like we have a lack of land here. The average population density in Finland is 19 inhabitants per square kilometre (49/sq mi), making it the third most sparsely populated country in Europe.

So nay to reclaiming something lost 80 years ago.

What the hell are you saying? This has to be a joke.

The part where you said Chinese people don't have refrigerators and aren't allowed to drive cars.

red OP ,
@red@sopuli.xyz avatar

I'm leaning towards that, but doesn't hurt to ask. I might suggest this as a feature to the Sync developer, I can already filter posts and comments by keywords and it helps a ton with certain type of content. Wouldn't be a stretch to get just a post title/community name filter.

red OP ,
@red@sopuli.xyz avatar

Does that in fact only affect posts, but not comments? Exactly what I needed!

How does this work for poly people? Just a shower throught.

Feel free to join Ukraine as a voluntary fighter. Many have done so. Or keep spouting shit here about others. Put your money where your mouth is, Sir Feckless.

No right wing wave in Finland as Left Alliance take record result in EU elections ( yle.fi )

Finland's results in the European election bucked a continent-wide trend of rising support for parties on the outer fringe of right-wing politics, with the Left Alliance and the National Coalition winning big at the expense of the nationalist Finns Party....

red ,
@red@sopuli.xyz avatar

It's the eu parlament elections, not our own. Our own is still in the hands of a centre-right party, in a coalition with shitty far right party (because they needed a majority, and the typical centrist party decided to not participate).

On the bright side, that far right party is fast losing support.

It wasn't a mod. You're just at -17 vote count because what you said was moronic.

I have my client settings at not to hide, just collapse.

red ,

Maybe my client doesn't care about mods (Sync for Lemmy). Otherwise maybe mod removal is just for the mods instace. Im on Sopuli.xyz

The yellow color of Finland is weird. We call it Vappu, or Walburgs Night, but it's indeed a paid holiday labour day.

My point was it's the same thing, with local name pretty much.

Has ethernet become illegitimate? A librarian flipped out after spotting me using ethernet

I plugged into ethernet (as wifi w/captive portal does not work for me). I think clearnet worked but I have no interest in that. Egress Tor traffic was blocked and so was VPN. I’m not interested in editing all my scripts and configs to use clearnet, so the library’s internet is useless to me (unless I bother to try a tor...

Everyone has access, phone or not, just not when the PC room sometimes is closed due reasons.

You don't have 24/7 access rights as far as I'm aware.

red ,
@red@sopuli.xyz avatar

You can't claim shit about equality for all and access without materials, when discussing byod. Make up your mind.

Everyone has access, byod is covered for 99% as extra convenience.

You aren't being treated poorly, instead, you have unreasonable expectations. You need to adjust those. You are not a victim, nor were you rights violated.

You tried to circumvent security when the computer room was closed.

The librarians education most likely doesn't cover anything more than turning things off and on, he/she isn't likely to understand what you were doing, and the equipment isn't maintained by the librarians - it's simply located there.

Data persists both in the cloud, or on a memory stick. Free options exist.

red ,
@red@sopuli.xyz avatar

You don't have to believe it - everyone still knows you are. Time to wake up to reality. Everyone has access, the method of access isn't discriminating, nor do you have any say in it. In other words, it's public, free for all, and the way they set it up.

If you don't like the free service, don't use it. It not being how you like it isn't wrong in any way, that's your problem.

red ,
@red@sopuli.xyz avatar

I'd be willing to bet that the blinding majority does not use it as described, nullifying the premise of your theory. In any case, the more we use it, the less useful it'd be in your alleged use case.

Pedo brlgade

Or people just don't appreciate, that a random on the Internet insinuates another person is a pedo, based on using common memes. That sort of stupid shit typically gets a facepalm, and a downvote.

Comments no longer visible with youtube frontends?

Are comments no longer visible for anyone else using the youtube frontends? I can no longer see comments with either invidious, piped, or viewtube, and I've tried several instances of each. With invidious there's just nothing there below the video description. With viewtube I get an error message. And with piped I see...

I'm not seeing the "insulting users of the community" point you stated OP, could you clarify? I did see one snarky response to a dude calling him an asshole, and I also saw posts stating he shouldn't be a mod, and generally very hostile responsens. Those in mind, I think his output was quite civil even though I disagree with his reasoning and opinion to large degree.

This feels like a witchhunt to me, and I for one don't think a volunteer moderators job should be in question if he has a hot take on something. He's just keeping the spam etc. clean, he's allowed to have differing opinions on subjects, as long as there is no misuse of his mod powers.

You are confusing freedom of discussion to using an specific instance with specific rules. Lemmy is clear proof of what you say is not true, and you are incorrect in your deductions of what/why and who.

Closing toilet lid before flushing doesn't keep viral spray inside, study suggests ( www.cidrap.umn.edu )

Contrary to previous study findings, closing the toilet lid before flushing doesn't stop aerosolized viruses from contaminating bathroom surfaces, scientists from the University of Arizona and Reckitt Benckiser LLC, the company that makes the disinfectant used in the study, report in the American Journal of Infection Control....

red ,
@red@sopuli.xyz avatar

Mythbusters busted this myth long before studies. Turns out that air pressure is enough to push the particles flying from the bowl despite the lid, because the toilet lid isn't a good air tight seal, and the air is pushed out due to water volume increase.

So basically closing the lid doesn't help.

It's so weird to see this. Where I live, unions are a default. It should become the norm everywhere, not just in northern Europe.

Not sure, but I do know the union stuff is very prominent in Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark

AirDrop cracked by China, revealing phone number & email ( 9to5mac.com )

Police have identified multiple suspects via that method, the agency said, without disclosing if anyone was...
