"Bottom line is that Trump didn’t know much and doesn’t even know how to learn more, and you can’t be good at the job without knowing much. That, even more than his disregard for the rule of law, made him a very dangerous president for four years, and given that there’s no evidence he’s learned anything it would make him a very dangerous president again."

Ad an outsider, Australian, the electoral system you’re saddled with means that you must elect Biden. As disgusted as I am by the support of the Netanyahu government, you don’t have any other option, if you don’t want something much worse.

Alt txt. Glastonbury tor, a square castle-like tower, is standing against an iridescent green & pink sky due to the Aurora borealis.

Chernobyl, 38 years ago today.

Human "bio-robots" had to make homemade lead lined suits to then spend 40 seconds to 2 minutes on the roof of reactor #3 shoveling bits of the reactor core into the hole where reactor #4 used to be. 3,500 people did this task.

Elephant's Head

This is Reynisfjall, a cliff face with famous basalt caves named Hálsanefshellir.
The beach is Reynisfjara, one of the loveliest but most dangerous black beaches of #Iceland.

To get this shot, I had to get as far away as I could, turning my back to the sea. I was with my partner and he was watching the waves. I took the photo as quickly as I could, and we moved back to a safe distance from the sea.

    Truly disheartening news from Slovakia:

Even though the pro-western, pro-Ukraine presidential candidate Korcok won the first round of the presidential election, yesterday Putin's guy Pellegrini won the final.

This means the anti-Ukraine prime minister Fico is now completing his power grab with an anti-Ukraine president at his side.

With Hungary controlled by Viktor Orbán, the EU now has two Kremlin allied countries among us.

    They are celebrating in Moscow.

Palestinian photographer Mohammad Salem has won the World Press Photo contest for Asia for his photograph ‘A Palestinian Woman Embraces the Body of Her Niece’.

The photograph, which has been seen around the world shows Palestinian woman Inas Abu Maamar, 36, embracing the body of her 5-year-old niece Saly, who was killed in an Israeli strike, at Nasser hospital in Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip on October 17, 2023.

If I had a dollar for every member of the “older generation” who has complained about the “younger generation” ever since humans walked the earth, I’d be richer than Bezos. Your turn will come, more quickly than you think.
