I'm fine with bugs that don't bother me. Around my house, I've got a ton of red paper wasps. They're assholes. My mere existence makes me a threat worth stinging. Same for the rest of my family. They can go fuck themselves.

Squirrel ,
@Squirrel@thelemmy.club avatar

Oh yeah, I've got mud daubers, too. They're cool; they don't mess with me, and I don't mess with them. It's really just those big, red assholes (and the occasional yellow jacket) that are problematic.

Squirrel ,
@Squirrel@thelemmy.club avatar

Nope. Nope.

I don't mind a hug, but I have zero desire to snuggle or wrestle with my friends, male or female.

Squirrel ,
@Squirrel@thelemmy.club avatar

We're snuggly right up until we get bitey.

If you insist on it being a girl, then yeah, it's too late. Adult relationships have their own brand of sweet and romantic.

I definitely learned useful things in community college -- at least in so far as general education courses can be considered useful. There were some duds, of course. However, I don't feel like I got much more out of university classes of the same level.

With that being said, you may just have the misfortune of attending a lackluster school.

Squirrel ,
@Squirrel@thelemmy.club avatar

I'm still not 100% on how that is pronounced.

Squirrel ,
@Squirrel@thelemmy.club avatar

That was also true in 2020. And in 2016 for Hillary.

Squirrel ,
@Squirrel@thelemmy.club avatar

I think that's part of the joke. Texas and birth control bullshit.

Nobody said anything about his acting. This is about him never dating anyone over 25.

Squirrel ,
@Squirrel@thelemmy.club avatar

Ah, I figured you thought you were on-topic (that the original post was somehow critical of his acting?), not on a tangent. My mistake.

Squirrel ,

I guess? I was homophobic as hell back in high school, but I'm now a firm supporter of LGBT+ rights. But I suppose this guy isn't claiming to have changed.

Squirrel ,
@Squirrel@thelemmy.club avatar

I'm a big fan of flat design, too. To be fair, I basically loved every style in its time. Regardless, I like flat.

Squirrel ,
@Squirrel@thelemmy.club avatar

Woo, grunge!

Squirrel ,
@Squirrel@thelemmy.club avatar

Ditto. There were a number of times in high school where I totally missed a girl showing interest in me. Some of them were blatantly obvious, in retrospect, but my clueless teenage ass never suspected a thing.

Squirrel ,
@Squirrel@thelemmy.club avatar

Lord, please let those morons try to dual wield. It would be funny to watch.

He's annoying, that's all. But he is quite annoying.

Also, screwing up art has less severe repercussions than, oh... almost anything else.

Edit: I'm not insulting artists, I'm insulting the competence of AI. Fuck-ups with AI art don't kill people.

Funny, the whole thing is supposed to be applicable. They can't just ignore the parts that fit your terrible atheist agenda. And these points certainly aren't a matter of ignored context.

I've actually had other Christians argue against the message of love preached by Jesus, saying it's inapplicable here or there. Of course, I can't be a true Christian if I want equal rights for "the gays," healthcare for all, or any of the other various far left (for the US) views I hold.

Note: I'm a Christian who firmly supports the separation of church and state, sooooo...

Squirrel ,
@Squirrel@thelemmy.club avatar

I'm guessing you missed where that was stated in the image.

Science is blue (dark blue, if given the option).

Math is red or black.

English is green.

Social studies is yellow.

Everything else goes in whatever is left.

Squirrel ,
@Squirrel@thelemmy.club avatar

Compared to what? Not compared to other major cities, from a tourist's perspective.

Squirrel ,
@Squirrel@thelemmy.club avatar

Gotta get a beanbag chair or something. Aside from that, I don't see a problem (for a bachelor who is content to remain a bachelor).

With our current voting system, this is all we can do. Vote Democrat and hope for gradual change. Sadly, our planet is more than "gradually" fucked.

Until the voting system changes (hah), we can push the Democrats to do better, and they'll surely listen... I'm voting Biden, but I'm sure as hell bitter about the situation.

Squirrel ,
@Squirrel@thelemmy.club avatar

Bud, you're not doing any good here. Your approach assumes the other person believes that Jesus is real. That's like arguing for human rights with a Republican -- it's fundamentally against their ideals.

Squirrel ,
@Squirrel@thelemmy.club avatar

Sadly, it doesn't always seem to exist.

Squirrel ,

It's "accomplished" giving a clear place of congregation to many, many niche communities. It's (anti-)social media; it's not intended to accomplish anything big.

Squirrel ,

5, 7, and 9 would be my choices if I wasn't married. I guess I would probably still pick 7, just so I can be confident my wife likes the way I look.

Squirrel ,
@Squirrel@thelemmy.club avatar

You want hairless ears and tail? I don't think those two pills should go together.

Squirrel ,
@Squirrel@thelemmy.club avatar

House centipede. It may, possibly, be hellspawn.

Squirrel ,
@Squirrel@thelemmy.club avatar

Most people are inherently biased towards their chosen system. A "water scale" doesn't make sense to fahrenheit users, and a "human scale" is dismissed as even existing by the Celsius users. But hey, if you want to fight, have at it. It's annoying and pointless, but that's what the internet is for.

Squirrel ,
@Squirrel@thelemmy.club avatar

I typically assume it's a non-native speaker with things like this, but I'm not sure in this case.

I've felt like this after diving into a flower, too

What is a gender neutral replacement for man, guys, buddy, etc?

So I've realized that in conversations I'll use traditional terms for men as general terms for all genders, both singularly and for groups. I always mean it well, but I've been thinking that it's not as inclusive to women/trans people....

Peeps

Note: You will sound like a tool if you say this.

I don't have a swamp, but I have a wooded yard and can attest to most of what you said. However, in addition to the plethora of bug species and legion of spiders, I also have a shitload of mosquitos.

Squirrel ,
@Squirrel@thelemmy.club avatar

That would be difficult to do. There are far more spiders in my yard than I've seen elsewhere. It blew me away when I moved here.

So, if an Amish person decided to work at the DMV, they should be able to refuse driver's licenses to everyone? It's against their beliefs, after all. (I don't know if it technically is, but play along, for the sake of argument.) Or... Should they maybe just not have that job, since it's a matter of what is legally required to do something? Whether it's 1% or 100% of the population, it's their beliefs that are more important, right?

Edit: I know this is a shitty argument. That's the point.
