Also here cause of an unjust ban (and because of the 3rd party app fiasco). I reported too many blatant advertisements as spam and got kicked out due to "report abuse". But anyway, this is why I split my time between Lemmy and Imgur now. Imgur is no better than reddit (at least when it comes to 3rd party apps), but at least it helps fill a void.

It freaked me out for a second when the link opened in the Google Maps app instead of Firefox like usual. This is neat.

Edit: These time zone lines are now a permanent addition to my Maps app. Not complaining but this is some freaky shit. Simply clicking on a link can make a permanent change apparently, and it's surprising that malicious actors are not taking advantage of this.

Both DDG and Google search is so bad these days that I actually started using Bing. At least with Bing, you can ask the AI to find that specific thing for you. Works almost as well as simply adding site:reddit.com to all of your DDG searches, sometimes better even.

You're forgetting that the entire reason why so many people enter illegally* is because it's next to impossible to enter legally unkess you have lots of connections in the US. Your average foreigner doesn't stand a chance.

Don't want 6 million people to enter illegally? Make it easier to enter legally. It's that simple, yet people like you will never understand that. "Securing the border" only makes the problem worse. We should be opening it instead.

It means only working as hard as you're paid to. If the multi-billion dollar megacorp you're working for is only paying you $18/hr, you only put in an $18/hr effort; i.e. Work just barely hard enough to not get fired.

How did Discord make the list but not Imgur? At least Imgur is somewhat like reddit.

I remember that post from MrGrimm. It went something like "there are no good image hosts for reddit, so I made one".

When they added user accounts a few years later to spin it off into its own thing, I was among the first to create one. Managed to snag the username "anonymous" before anyone else could. Never actually used the account until last June, when all the 3rd party app drama started on reddit. Now I equally split my time between here and Imgur to replace reddit: I go to imgur for the memes, and Lemmy for the news. Don't even miss reddit.

Yep this is why I place a thermometer in the warmest part of the fridge (upper door, near the butter tray) and make sure that part never goes above 36-37°F. The back of the fridge hangs out in the low 30s – enough to freeze – but my food lasts a lot longer before going moldy. And there's the added bonus that it helps keep the kitchen warmer in the winter, too.

How about you remove ads entirely like other competing apps do? Until you promise that your app won't advertise to me nor track me, I have no reason to use it over much better alternatives like Voyager that don't invade my privacy.
