Dafuq is a nævus? Don't make me Google it, I'm lazy.

LemmyKnowsBest ,

Your parents must've been wealthy because those are all the fun toys I remember in my childhood that all the other kids had. I didn't have.

LemmyKnowsBest ,

Would be epic for a third-grader to loudly firmly vociferate a taxi driver back into shape

LemmyKnowsBest ,

I guess I'm old enough too, but apparently not cool enough. Because I have no idea what you two are talking about.

LemmyKnowsBest ,

My mom's dead but if she was alive I'm sure she'd be proud of my vocabulary. Anyway my parents & I have never been on kissing terms so no.

LemmyKnowsBest ,

WHAT? Y'all are driving your cars around on Lemmy rotors/axels/wheels? Lemmy isn't strong enough, this is not its intended use!

LemmyKnowsBest OP ,

Thank you

LemmyKnowsBest OP ,

What do they base the monthly pay on? Is it minimum wage? or based on what you were already currently earning?

And where does that money come from? who funds it? The previous employer? or the government, taxes?

LemmyKnowsBest OP , (edited )

Thank you.

Also I'm curious, it wasn't until recent years I've learned that unemployment benefits are even a thing. So I'm wondering, if someone gets fired from a job, it must've been because they did something really bad, so how could they be entitled to continue getting paid after doing something really bad? And then continue getting paid up to six months while not working at all? That seems strange to me.

But also there was the COVID era when so many people couldn't work because their jobs shut down, and they drew unemployment and then, so I understand that's a valid scenario.

But my question remains, if someone gets fired from a job, it must've been because they did something really bad, so how could they be entitled to get paid after doing something really bad?

It's ridiculous that governments are still confused & trying to figure out all this no-brainer shit

Man survives being lost in California mountains for 10 days by eating berries ( www.theguardian.com )

As McClish told it, the 34-year-old outdoors enthusiast from Boulder Creek, California, lost his bearings after beginning his hike the morning of 11 June. He had not informed anyone else of his plans, so it would not be until the afternoon of Thursday, 20 June, that the unkempt-looking hiker was found at the bottom of a remote...

I'm scrolling down so far into the comments hoping someone will explain the benefit of sleeping on wet leaves

Okay but why do you think adults having affairs are sad? They're out there chasing tail and they're getting some.

Getting a new SIM card, switching ISPs, how can I ensure to keep my previous old phone number that Verizon assigned me 7 years ago?

This month I can finally leave my extortionate Verizon contract, I'm getting a new SIM card to get service with another ISP, now how can I ensure to keep my previous old phone number that Verizon assigned me 7 years ago?

Embarking on a complete reading of Stephen King's novels. Just reading Carrie now. Wondering if when I get to The Stand I should read the original or the updated/revised.

I understand that the newer version has a different ending and some new characters and scenes that weren't in the original. But the original is what got all the accolades and was considered his best book....

LemmyKnowsBest ,

I don't have an answer to your question but

RIP your psyche.

And apparently this is his whole genuine personality. Blabbering corporate motivational buzzwords from morning till night everyday all year long.

Cute! Her audition was even better than the final product. Those wide innocent eyes while delivering those shocking lines

College students are required to cite everything and no plagiarism or bullshitting allowed, and everything must be spelled correctly.

Is Craigslist Dying?

I went to Craigslist in my local area for the first time in awhile. I used to like “best of” Craigslist because some of them were great, there still are some, but its just not the same. A community I used to visit had about half the number of posts as I remember, and of jobs and things for sale, I would say roughly half the...

I don't believe you, because you can only get murdered once, and after that you wouldn't be able to post comments on the internet.

LemmyKnowsBest ,

I'm glad you're sharing it here where we can leave comments.

I learned that word from my dad when I was a child. we kept a carafe in the refrigerator designated for water. It's a wine carafe but can put anything in it. My dad was an alcoholic so he had a wine carafe and a lot of other alcohol-related accoutrements like beer steins.

English speakers can really enhance their vocabulary when they know French. English does have a lot of French words that most people don't use anymore but if you use them, your vocabulary becomes off-the-charts intellectual.

LemmyKnowsBest ,

So are you implying that OP's table has years of cumshots all over it?

LemmyKnowsBest ,

I've been increasingly unhappy since hearing the incessant yammering of Jordan Peterson. Has he been incessantly yammering since his birth in 1962?

LemmyKnowsBest ,

LOL 😂 that was my first thought. Wouldn't you love to be scientist credited for, or the stock photo model for article titles like this?

like you saw Dwayne Johnson do it? or you can confirm that many people do it?

If many people are doing it then maybe toilets need to be placed closer and more convenient to the work area.

LemmyKnowsBest ,

So why is he making movies if nobody's watching them? that seems like a garbage can for the film industry to put money in.

LemmyKnowsBest ,

If being late to work and peeing in a bottle is "crumbling," I'd say the title of this article is blowing things out of proportion.

LemmyKnowsBest ,

I like your username, clever, relatable

LemmyKnowsBest ,

So are you saying that you saw Dwayne Johnson piss in a bottle and not many other people on film sets do that? Help me out here. I'm not trying to put words in your mouth.

LemmyKnowsBest ,

As a side note fun fact, I pee in bottles fairly regularly due to my lifestyle and whenever my bladder is at max capacity & I'm about to burst, I fill an entire 1 liter bottle, no more than that, which I find interesting & convenient to know that I could never possibly overflow a 1 liter bottle 😄

interesting, so if China did have time zones it would look like this

https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/16da804a-b479-456e-8dc6-9e04974af1de.jpeg

But since they are all in the green +8 time zone, that means the people on the far west side of China have to function at 5am the same way people are expected to function at 8am.

And when everybody's going to bed around 10pm, the far west of China has to go to bed at what is actually 7pm according to the sun.
