I wish it was only after urinating that I'd seen my fellow man just walk straight out of the toilet, beyond disgusting.

Wreck of the last ship of famed Anglo-Irish explorer Shackleton found off the coast of Canada ( apnews.com )

The wreck of the last ship belonging to Sir Ernest Shackleton, a famous Irish-born British explorer of Antarctica, has been found off the coast of Labrador in Canada, 62 years after it went missing. The wreck was found by an international team led by the Royal Canadian Geographical Society....

Ah, cool. I thought he'd died on it when it went down. Not that he's just died on it. Thanks for that. I'll bin my comment off

JimmyChanga ,

Jesus fuck, I'd put Threads out my mind! There was a cartoon I recall too, old couple, tried to hide in their bath from a nuclear strike? Was that a thing?

JimmyChanga ,

It's a fun enough performance I thought, but a pretty flat film for all the hype that's around it. Decent but like a 6/10

JimmyChanga ,

Looking forward to this, always worried Netflix will shit can a show before it finishes its story

JimmyChanga ,

What a waste, surely somebody would've taken on a resto project on that instead of just dumping it

JimmyChanga ,

Trying to pick off things not mentioned...Jesus Christ, that's Jason Bourne!
The Bourne identity first three at least are up there.
As much as I don't like glorify the guy, the Mission Impossible films from 2 onwards have all been pretty great as was Top Gun:Maverick and Collateral.
Away from Tom...
Oldboy,
The Departed (thriller probably more than action)
Taken (first one)
The Craig Daniel's Bond Films
300,
Equaliser,
Does Nolan's Batman trilogy count?

JimmyChanga ,

Nailed the title at least. Even looks decent

JimmyChanga ,

Ah excellent, I've been waiting for this. Completely forgot it was coming out

JimmyChanga ,

Excellently written article that really sums up why I'm finally done with Xbox once my gamepass runs out. Been holding off buying a ps5 but they'll be gaining a new customer for my console gaming.

JimmyChanga ,

Only heard feet referred to as dogs in american tv, never in real life, the phrase "my dogs are barking" messing the person'sfeet were sore, bloody odd if you ask me

JimmyChanga ,

Spy/master is up on the iplayer for those who like to binge

JimmyChanga ,

Relent the advert for them featuring Reef , thought they were going to be the new led zeppelin! They were the coolest thing though, the recordable player and all, always loved sony stuff.

JimmyChanga ,

That sounds like a win

I am very far from any sort of legal expert but it feels to me that the language is putting an onus on the suppliers to maintain and not withdraw content. "As described" I guess being the get out close for them

JimmyChanga ,

They do look amazing, why no butter though?

JimmyChanga ,

Thank the stars, I was seriously worried there for a minute

JimmyChanga ,

Is that for real or has the takeover made that unnecessary? Can't tell anymore is they're serious

JimmyChanga ,

Haha, guess I could have read it a bit closer

JimmyChanga ,

Not soap opera-y at all imo, 4 episodes in. It's great, it feels like the fallout world 100%

JimmyChanga ,

The fact the Charlotte hornets aren't the main team in the sports square is unforgivable

JimmyChanga ,

If I'm understanding your question right, the 2010s were fairly dominated by marvel's movie machine, and RDJ was probably the stand out lead of those films, though Samuel L Jackson is the highest grossingactor of that decade i think. RdJ has now garnered the critical acclaim in the 2020s that was missing, so there's a reasonable chance RDJ could be the man you're looking for.
Leo DiCaprio is the most revered critically over the same period I think, of leading men in highly rated films.
Though Tom Cruise, for whatever reasons, is really the last of the real Moviestars, but his career spans over the earlier period too of the 00's and even 80s, & 90s.

Like a giant baby, explains why he wears diapers too

Minimum wage raises have almost no effect on inflation rates, or "shrinkflation" for that matter. The rises in minimum wage have been frequent over the last few years but it's almost entirely been cost push inflation that's caused the cost of living to be so much higher and so swiftly over the last few years. Longer term here's actually been huge wage stagnation for most. Which is its own issue. Off the back of the cost push causation, the UA invasion by Russia, covid etc profiteering by companies is definitely happening too.

Also librarians maybe want the same free time as their families

JimmyChanga ,

Presumably not the same one no, but somebody has to cover it. Not a job that's traditionally shift work in my past of be world, so a sizeable change for existing staff.
I think a community ran version would be better for this sort of idea, or if people are aware of the less formal evening setting doesn't have to be full librarians on staff, reduced service sort of thing.

JimmyChanga ,

Technically an adult at the time, nothing noticeably changed at all, I guess folk in Dover would've noticed any change more. My uncle in London went across on wine runs more often...
Hovercrafts were a lot cooler, if a lot less practical.

Some instant coffee makes a perfectly acceptable coffee like beverage that fits the job, there's no need to ever buy Nestle products though

Can't help with the gag reflex though.

JimmyChanga ,

That's really quite mind blowing, thanks for sharing

Surely Trump is now recognised as an enemy of workers everywhere. Fooled once with his first election promises, not to be fooled again.

JimmyChanga ,

I can't help singing "Anal Vice, Anal Vice, use it.to pop your hemeroids... every time I hear edelweiss, childish but releases the creepiness

JimmyChanga ,

The pacing change from the first three books is noticeable but I felt it was welcome. The first three are almost contained quest novels, where they chase a goal and more or less complete it by books end, the scope changes a bit in book four onwards to a larger view of how you pull this disbanded world together to face the final fight. It really doesn't return to the early books pacing, but once you adjust, I felt at least that the novels now intriguing for the change.

In the UK inheritance tax starts above 325,000 pounds, there's some exceptions that can increase that threshold to 500,000, but generally anything above 325,000 is taxed at 40%.

JimmyChanga ,

There are ways to lessen the load, gifts can be given before death though you have to live on for seven years or tax is collected, trusts can be set up, if property is left to a spouse or direct descendent, then up to a certain value it's got a nil rate... but its not great

Bunny shower ( youtube.com )

Don’t try this at home, bunnies getting their whole bodies wet can make them very sick (they can’t really warm back up fast enough, and all that bunny fur also prevents them from drying off easily) or stressed to the point they go into shock. There are some special exceptions where you can shower/bathe a bunny and the...

Had a fair few buns over the years and have found these ladies advice very good https://youtu.be/6UcoZHBlQ80?si=-8sRhb5K_3AGXGE_
