Questions like "why are you still on #X/ ?" ignore the obvious.

Because much of the content I enjoy and the things I want to see are there, not here on

There's tons of stuff I want to see and interact with that just does not exist here. Niches of mine that are aren't filled here. Conversations that aren't happening here at all.

This is so ridiculous that proves that almost everyone sharing this have never talked to a Muslim or seen a Muslim pray or even asked a Muslim about it before sharing it.

Wearing shoes and glasses when praying is just so ridiculously stupid that only an idiot would believe its authentic.

But sadly our world is full of idiots.

I've been thinking about the at least 27% on all transactions policy. I think one (of the many) things got wrong with and his idea for X as an "everything app" is that we already have an everything app -- our phone.

Any corporation that wants to get a cut of every facet of life needs to be in the phone platform business.

If you've ever read about design, you've probably encountered the idea of #PavingTheDesirePath. A #DesirePath is an erosion path created by people departing from the official walkway and taking their own route. The story goes that smart campus planners don't fight the desire paths laid down by students; they pave them, formalizing the route that their constituents have voted for with their feet.

A photo of a 'desire path' - a path worn through the turf in a park where people have left the paved path and worn away the grass. The image crossfades so that the grassy lawn of the park is replaced by a 'code waterfall' as seen in the credit sequences of the Wachowskis' 'Matrix' movies. But this pattern is even more pronounced in the digital world, because it's much easier to update a digital service than it is to update all the tractors in the field, especially if that service is cloud-based, meaning you can modify the back-end everyone is instantly updated. The most celebrated example of this co-creation is , whose users created a host of its core features.

But is it?

Whoopsies! "Free speech absolutist" "accidentally" suspends the accounts of journalists who are critical of him, and people whose political views he disagrees with.

He seems to have quite the habit of firing or banning people he disagrees with, doesn't he?

Via Gizmodo:

"X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, purged an unknown number of prominent accounts over the last 24 hours with little to no explanation, and then restored the accounts minutes after this article was published.

"The list includes popular accounts belonging to journalists, writers, and podcasters. Among them are Ken Klippenstein of the Intercept, writer and podcaster Rob Rousseau, Texas Observer correspondent Steven Monacelli, the account for TrueAnon, a left-wing politics and news podcast, and a number of others.

"One thing the accounts have in common is recent criticisms of the Israeli government.

...

"Musk, who calls himself a “free speech absolutist” has previously said no one should be banned from X unless they break the law.

"Update, 1:12 p.m.: Shortly after this article was published, Musk responded to a question about the issue from far-right influencer Jackson Hinkle. Musk promised to investigate, and the accounts went back up soon after. Musk later blamed the “mistake” on X’s spam algorithms. The Hamas account is still suspended."

We, the Aktionsbündnis neue Soziale Medien (New Social Media Action Alliance) today appealed to in Germany to shut down their #X (formerly ) accounts as soon as possible.

Signatures for the appeal, written as an open letter, are now being collected on the platform 📝

The appeal points out that the presence on X/Twitter does not do justice to the universities' remit to provide information because of the and political agitation practised there. At the same time, presences should be established on and other services in the , whose decentralised and moderated design is much more compatible with the rules of democratic and sustainable coexistence.

It’s incredibly dangerous how the richest man in the world — deluded by paranoia, narcissism, and far-right conspiracies — can get arms of the state to go after his perceived enemies instead of holding him to account as they should be doing.

I feel like the reason , and the at large, aren't taking off has to do with the fact that they're actually social networks. People don't seem to want a social network, they want content platforms. People aren't using or or to keep up with their friends these days, they're using these apps to entertain themselves. And since and every other platform that used to be a social network began pivoting toward content promotion, I think society has forgotten what a social network is supposed to actually be anymore.

The chain of evidence looks strong and while there is much news media spinning, a court of law is more rigorous environment where focus on fact is primary
