Like a lot of folks, we got married a little later in our lives. …We wanted to grow our family together & were fortunate enough to be able to pursue the only option for us: in vitro fertilization, or #IVF. Gabby never made it to that appointment.
The #gunman who killed 5 people & wounded 19 others during a midnight #shooting spree at an #LGBTQ+ nightclub in #ColoradoSprings in 2022 was sentenced in federal court Tues to 55 concurrent life sentences in addition to a 190-yr sentence w/no possibility of parole. #AndersonLeeAldrich, 24, pleaded #guilty to 74 federal counts, including 50 federal #HateCrimes & other #gun crimes.
Of the 9 victims of Sat’s #MassShooting at #RochesterHills Brooklands Plaza #SplashPad, 2 survivors were released from hospital, a 37-yr-old woman & 77-yr-old man, while the 7 others remain in hospital. 2 remain in critical condition, including an 8-yr-old boy who was shot in the head, though he appears to be making amazing progress.
Michael William Nash, 42, is accused of #shooting 9 people Saturday evening at the Brooklands Plaza #SplashPad along Auburn Road in #RochesterHills. Police say he opened fire with a 9mm Glock semi-automatic handgun, reloaded, fired & then reloaded a second time, leaving three bullet magazines at the scene.
9 people were injured, including 2 young children & their mother, after a #shooter opened fire at a #SplashPad in a #Detroit suburb.
The #MassShooting happened just after 5PM at a city park featuring a rec area w/nonslip surface where people can turn on sprays & fountains to play. The attack appeared random. The shooter drove up to the park, walked to the splash pad & fired as many as 28X, stopping mult times to reload.
Sat’s #shooting came at the end of the first full week of summer vacation for students attending Rochester Community schools.
Rochester Hills is about 15 miles (24 km) south of Oxford, where in 2021 a 15-yr-old fatally shot 4 high school students.
“We’ve gone through so many tragedies,” Sheriff Bouchard said. “You know, we’re not even fully comprehending what happened at Oxford. And, you know, now we have another complete tragedy that we’re dealing with.”
He “wanted it clear that the attack was racially motivated,” #FBI Special Agent Ryan Harp wrote in the complaint. Prieto allegedly said he planned to leave #ConfederateFlags at the #shooting venue & to shout phrases including “Black lives don’t matter, White lives matter.”
The bill which goes into effect in July, allows #privateproperty owners to #shoot first and questions later if they believe that a trespasser or homeless person is going to commit a #felony or is attempting to “deposses” them.
The set of #toughoncrime laws also #criminalizes being homeless.
