In an exclusive essay for PEOPLE, the married #Arizona lawmakers share how a #gunman stole their dreams of having a child together — & why they fear politicians will do the same to other #families

Mark McKinnon looks at two courtroom dramas, Trump's trial and conviction as a felon and Hunter Biden's trial, and asks what both tell us about family and family values. He concludes:
"Republicans love to talk about family values. But if the outcome of this coming election were to turn on the question of which candidate genuinely values family, the verdict would be unanimous."

‘Endless possibilities and adventure! We sold our home and just about everything we owned three years ago. Little did we know what awaited us on the open road ... freedom unlike anything we had ever had while on a quest to find a new place and community to call home’
I've just started reading Kathleen Hanna's autobiography, 'Rebel Girl'. I'm 5% in and it's enthralling, in a few different ways, as you can tell from the quotes.
Until high school, Kate Feiffer believed that her mother Judy's novel, "A Hot Property," was about real estate. Then a boyfriend plucked the book from the shelves, started reading passages aloud, and revealed it was a piece of 1970s erotica. From then until just a few years ago, Kate considered "A Hot Property" to be her literary Waterloo — the book she'd hoped to conquer but never been able to. But on her mother's death, she picked up the novel and — between bouts of screaming and cringing — found something more thoughtful and reflective than she was expecting. Here's what she wrote for LitHub.
A great capture the other day, I was out looking for baby foxes but managed to get this deer family outing.
We have dad and mum with 2 kids bringing up the rear, so lovely to see 🙂
Millions of people on here, but the #Fediverse can still be a small place.
Rough week in some ways, but I like my #family, our #cats, and usually my co-workers.
Schedule is letting me #bike to work every day this week! (It was spotty for a couple of months because of travel. No, weather here does not preclude riding, pretty much ever.)
Taking a Stand in the Battle for the Family
Simon Turpin - Answers in Genesis
The family is the first and most fundamental of all human institutions which God ordained in Scripture, and it is the educational unit which God uses to transmit His knowledge from one generation to the next. I believe that a lack of a solidly biblical approach in this whole area of education is doing great harm to an entire generation of Christian children. Ken Ham
This is to appease some well-meaning but overtly Christian and out-of-touch family members. Something for a 12yo who reads well above his age, along the lines of inspiration/motivation for teens to be good humans and members of society
Rather than have them pushing propaganda on my son I’d like to find a worthwhile read they will feel addresses the insufficient Christian influence in his life
President #Biden is heading to #Baltimore on Friday to survey the wreckage from the Francis Scott #KeyBridge that collapsed last week. In an addition to an aerial tour, Biden will get an operational update on #work being done to reopen the #PortOfBaltimore & will meet w/ #family members of those who died during the collapse, the White House said.
During remarks this week, #Trump said he wanted to “pay tribute” to a person he very much respected.
Trump thanked #TomHoman, who served as acting director of #ICE during Trump’s admin [Trump loved “acting” posts bc they aren’t subject to congressional confirmation] & has since been a frequent commentator on #FauxNews.
“When you have that policy, people don’t come,” #Trump said. “If a #family hears that they’re going to be separated, they love their family, they don’t come.”
When pressed whether that meant he would reinstate it, he said: “When you say to a family that if you come, we’re going to break you up, they don’t come & we can’t afford to have any more.”
During a separate interview w/Univision in Nov 2023, he said: “We did #FamilySeparation. A lot of people didn’t come. It stopped people from coming.”
„It took a unit of 14 Israeli soldiers storming her apartment to force her out. They ordered al-Haddad, her husband and his elderly parents — one half-blind and the other in a wheelchair — their two teenage sons and seven other family members to leave in the middle of the night on March 21. (…) Later, she learned the troops set fire to the house after they left.“

#Catherine, #Princess of #Wales, has #cancer
“In Jan, I underwent major abdominal surgery,” said Catherine, in a video posted on Kensington Palace’s social media. “At the time, it was thought that my condition was noncancerous. The surgery was successful, however tests after the operation found that cancer had been present.”
“We hope that you will understand that, as a family, we now need some time, space & privacy while I complete my treatment,” said Catherine, the wife of #PrinceWilliam & future #queen.
“This of course came as a huge shock,” #Catherine said, “& William & I have been doing everything we can to process & manage this privately for the sake of our young #family. As you can imagine, this has taken time.”
